Football Association Of Singapore
The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) is the governing body responsible for the administration of football in Singapore. Established in 1892 as the Singapore Football Association (SFA), it is the oldest football association in all of Asia. The FAS is also one of the founding members of both the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). It has been affiliated with FIFA since 1952. The FAS oversees the organisation and development of football and advancing the game at all levels in Singapore, and is responsible for all aspects of the amateur and professional game in its territory. This includes its flagship domestic league, the Singapore Premier League (SPL), as well as the men's, women's and youth national football teams. Jalan Besar Stadium
Jalan Besar Stadium, officially the Jalan Besar ActiveSG Stadium, is a association football, football stadium located in Kallang, Singapore. The stadium is part of the Jalan Besar Sports and Recreation Centre, a community sports facility that includes the stadium as well as a swimming complex. It is the home ground of the Singapore Premier League club Young Lions FC, Young Lions. The stadium is also used as an alternative home ground to the National Stadium, Singapore, National Stadium by the Singapore national football team. Lim Tong Hai
Lim Tong Hai (born 14 May 1969) was a centre-back for the Singapore national football team from 1989 to 1999. He held various backroom roles at former club Geylang United after retiring from his playing career until his departure in 2012. Club career Lim played for Geylang International (later renamed Geylang United) in the FAS Premier League before signing for the Singapore Lions in 1994. He formed a strong partnership with South Korean Jang Jung in the heart of defence as the Lions achieved the M-League and Malaysia Cup double in 1994. With the withdrawal of the Lions from Malaysian competitions and subsequent launch of the S.League, he signed for Tiong Bahru United (later renamed Tanjong Pagar United) in 1996. Goh Tat Chuan
Goh Tat Chuan (; born 6 February 1974) is a former Singapore football player. A midfielder, he spent most of his time at Woodlands Wellington FC and was the 10th captain of the club. Goh is currently the record holder for the most appearances for Woodlands with 138 appearances. He graduated from St Joseph's Institution and the Nanyang Technological University and was one of the few players in the Singapore national soccer team to have a degree. During his time in the S-League, his passing skills and ability as a holding midfielder earned him a reputation as one of the best midfielders in the league and even in the region. Lionel Lewis
Lionel Lewis (born 16 December 1982) is a retired Singaporean footballer who played for Singapore national football team as a goalkeeper. He played for Home United from 2004 to 2012, having played for Geylang United and the Young Lions in his earlier years. Lewis made his international debut in 2002 and made 73 appearances for the Singapore national football team. He was named the 2004 Tiger Cup MVP, and was nominated for the 2006 Asian Footballer of the Year award. After his retirement from professional football he has worked for Nanyang Polytechnic managing student sports. Zainudin Nordin
Zainudin bin Nordin ( Jawi: زاينودين نوردين; born 3 July 1963) is a Singaporean former politician who served as Mayor of Central Singapore District. A former member of the governing People's Action Party, he was the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Bishan–Toa Payoh North ward of Bishan–Toa Payoh GRC between 2001 and 2011, later the Toa Payoh East ward between 2011 and 2015. Ho Peng Kee
Ho Peng Kee ( zh, s=何炳基, p=Hé Bǐngjī; born 9 May 1954) is a Singaporean legal academic and former politician. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he was the Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Law and the Ministry of Home Affairs, and a Member of Parliament representing the Nee Soon East Single Member Constituency. He announced his retirement from politics on 31 March 2011, prior to the 2011 Singapore general election. Ho was formerly an academic, and at one time the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law at the National University of Singapore (NUS). His academic research interests have included alternative methods of dispute settlement, consumer law and protection, the law of contract, and law and society. Abbas Abu Amin is a former politician from the People's Action Party (PAP) who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Pasir Panjang Single Member Constituency (SMC) from 23 December 1980 to 17 August 1988 and Pasir Panjang Group Representation Constituency (GRC) from 3 September 1988 to 14 August 1991. Young Lions (football Team)
Young Lions Football Club, commonly known as Young Lions, is a Singaporean developmental football club that competes in the Singapore Premier League. The team is under the direct control of the Football Association of Singapore. The Young Lions are one of the few football clubs in the world which place an age restriction on team members while playing in a top-flight professional league. The Young Lions plays their league matches at the Jurong West Stadium. Their best S.League finish was third, which they achieved in 2004 and 2006. Goal By entering the Young Lions into the S.League, the FAS hopes to expose young players to top-level competition, thus helping to prepare them for international tournaments such as the Southeast Asian Games.
