Abbas Abu Amin
Abbas Abu Amin is a former politician from the People's Action Party (PAP) who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Pasir Panjang Single Member Constituency (SMC) from 23 December 1980 to 17 August 1988 and Pasir Panjang Group Representation Constituency (GRC) from 3 September 1988 to 14 August 1991. He studied at Kota Raja Malay School and Victoria School. He went on to the Teachers' Training College and joined the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) in 1966. He rose to the rank of Major in the Singapore Army. Abbas was also the Chairman of the Football Association of Singapore from 1988 to 1991, and an active trade unionist in National Trade Union Congress The National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), also known as the Singapore National Trades Union Congress (SNTUC) internationally, is the sole national trade union centre in Singapore. People's Action Party
The People's Action Party (abbreviation: PAP) is a major conservative centre-right political party in Singapore and is one of the three contemporary political parties represented in Parliament, alongside the opposition Workers' Party (WP) and Progress Singapore Party (PSP). Initially founded as a traditional centre-left party in 1954, the leftist faction was soon expelled from the party in 1961 by Lee Kuan Yew in the midst of Singapore's merger with Malaysia, desiring to move the party's ideology towards the centre after its first electoral victory in 1959. Ahmad Nizam Abbas
Ahmad Nizam bin Abbas Pingat Bakti Masyarakat, PBM is a Singaporean family lawyer and Syariah law practitioner. Early life and education Ahmad was born to Abbas Abu Amin, a People's Action Party Member of Parliament (MP), and his wife Aishah Daud. Ahmad has attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder and experienced some difficulties in school. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in law and English from the University of Keele in 1991, qualifying as an English barrister in 1992 and a Singapore lawyer in 1994. Over two decades later, he attained a Master of Laws in Islamic law and finance from Singapore Management University in 2013. Career Ahmad began his career as a criminal defence lawyer, before specialising in family law.
