Fontana North
Fontana North is a Canadian record distribution company and represents the Canadian wing of Fontana Distribution. It is a joint venture between Canadian-based MapleMusic Recordings, Cadence Music Group and US-based Fontana Distribution. The company was established by MapleCore in 2004 as MapleNationwide, and in 2006, it partnered with Fontana Distribution and was rebranded as Fontana North. It has expanded throughout Canada for pan-Canadian distribution of many music labels. On August 22, 2013 it was announced that they would be teaming up with Distort Entertainment in a joint venture deal with Fontana North acting as the main distributor of the hardcore label. Cordova Bay Records is an independent record label in Victoria, British Columbia. The label operates in conjunction with Cordova Bay Music Publishing under the parent company Cordova Bay Entertainment Group. The company was founded by Michael Burke in 1999 and touts itself as an artist-oriented label. History Cordova Bay Entertainment Group was founded by Michael Burke, who grew up in the Toronto suburb of Don Mills during the 1960s. Ipecac Recordings
Ipecac Recordings is an independent record label based in California. It was founded on April 1, 1999 by Greg Werckman (ex-label manager of Alternative Tentacles, ex-lead singer of DUH, ex-employee of Mercury Records) and Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Fantômas, Tomahawk, Peeping Tom and Mondo Cane) in Alameda, California. Originally the label was created for the sole purpose of releasing the first Fantômas album. Since then, they have gone on to distribute other artists like Melvins, Isis, as well as several of Patton's other projects and collaborations. The label is named after syrup of ipecac, an emetic, or vomit-inducing, medicine. Its slogan is "Ipecac Recordings—Making People Sick Since 1999." Temperance (group)
Temperance was a Canadian Electronic music duo, formed in Toronto in 1990. Biography Temperance was founded by music hobbyist Mark Ryan (H.A. Der-Hovagimian), who began it as a solo commercial Tech house project until he was joined by singer Lorraine Reid. The duo signed a recording contract with Hi-Bias Records in 1991. Temperance's first commercial release was in early 1992 with the 5-track EP ''Phantasy''. The song "Losing Touch" featured the vocals of Lorraine Reid, Ryan's former schoolmate. The follow-up was a 5-track EP titled ''Obsessive''. Although the first two releases charted on multiple underground charts throughout the world, Temperance crossed over to commercial pop dance with the release of the single "Music Is My Life" in early 1994. Luke Boyd (born December 13, 1977), better known by his stage name Classified, is a Canadian rapper and record producer from Enfield, Nova Scotia. Epitaph Records is an American independent record label owned by Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz.
