The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is the provincial ministry of the Government of Ontario that is responsible for transport infrastructure and related law in Ontario. Hearst, Ontario
Hearst is a town in the district of Cochrane, Ontario, Canada. It is located on the Mattawishkwia River in Northern Ontario, approximately west of Kapuskasing, approximately east of Thunder Bay along Highway 11. At Hearst, Highway 583 extends northward to Lac-Sainte-Thérèse and southward to Jogues, Coppell and Mead. Just over 96% of the town's resident's speak French as their mother language, the highest proportion in Ontario. History The town was established as a divisional point of the National Transcontinental Railway in 1913, 208 km west of Cochrane and 201 km east of the divisional point of Grant. The Valentine River (french: rivière Valentine) is a river in the Unorganized North Part of Cochrane District in northeastern Ontario, Canada. It is in the Moose River drainage basin, and is a tributary of Lac Pivabiska, the source of the Pivabiska River. Course The Valentine River begins at Valentine Lake in geographic Stoddart Township and flows northeast to take in the right tributary Little Valentine River. Wolverine Lake is a lake in geographic Hanlan Township and geographic Bannerman Township in Cochrane District in Northeastern Ontario, Canada. It is in the James Bay drainage basin and is in the Valentine River system. The primary inflows are the Valentine River, arriving from Hanlan Lake, at the southwest; and Wolverine Creek at the north. Northeastern Ontario is a secondary region of Northern Ontario in the Canadian province of Ontario, which lies north of Lake Huron and east of Lake Superior.
