Foluke Gunderson
Foluke Atinuke Gunderson (née Akinradewo; born October 5, 1987) is an indoor volleyball player who plays as a middle blocker for Japanese club Hisamitsu Springs. Born in Canada, she represents the United States women's national volleyball team, United States internationally. Gunderson won gold with the national team at the 2010 FIVB World Grand Prix, 2014 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship, 2014 World Championship, the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League, Rimini Volleyball Nations League, and the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, silver at the Volleyball at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's tournament, 2012 London Summer Olympics, and bronze at the Volleyball at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Women's tournament, 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Her 2020 Olympics win allowed her to complete the trifecta of winning an Olympic bronze, silver, and gold medal. Telekom Baku (formerly named Rabita Baku) was an Azerbaijani women's volleyball club. Telekom was an eight-time champion of Azerbaijani Superleague and the winner of the 2011 FIVB Club World Championship. History The Rabita Bank was founded in 2001 as Rabitachi Baku, and then took Rabita Baku in 2004. Club participated for the first time in an official competition in the European CEV Cup 2007–08, but was eliminated immediately by OK Hit Nova Gorica. The 2010 FIVB World Grand Prix was a women's volleyball tournament to be played by 12 countries from 6–29 August 2010. The finals were held at the Beilun Gymnasium in Ningbo, China. FIVB World Grand Prix
The FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix was an annual women's volleyball competition created in 1993. The men's version of the competition was called World League. This event should not be confused with the other international volleyball competitions, the World Championship, the World Cup and the World Grand Champions Cup. From 2018, the World Grand Prix was replaced by the FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League and Challenger Cup. History Origins World Grand Prix was created in 1993 as part of the FIVB's marketing strategy to promote the sport of volleyball by establishing annual international competitions. 2017 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Grand Champions Cup
The 2017 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Grand Champions Cup was the 7th staging of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup, a quadrennial international women's volleyball tournament organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). The tournament was held in Tokyo and Nagoya, Japan from 5 to 10 September 2017. 6 national teams from 4 confederations competed in the tournament. China claimed their second title at the tournament with an unbeaten record. Brazil claimed the silver after a face-off in the final round with United States who finished third. Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup
The FIVB Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup is an international volleyball competition contested by the senior men's and women's national teams of the members of ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The tournament was created in 1993 after radical changes made on the biggest tournaments organised by the FIVB. The main goal was not to have a single year without two high-profile world-level volleyball competitions, alongside the pre-existing men's and women's world championship, men's and women's world cup and the volleyball tournament at the Olympic Games which are all quadrennial and the annual men's and women's Nations League. The World Grand Champions Cup is therefore played quadrennially the year after the Olympic Games and is always hosted by the Japan Volleyball Association. The 2015 FIVB Women's World Cup was held from August 22 to September 6 in Japan. The tournament was a qualification process for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The 2011 FIVB Women's World Cup was played from 4 to 18 November 2011 in Japan. The tournament was the first step in the qualification process for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, United Kingdom.
