Folsom Field
Folsom Field is an outdoor college football stadium in the western United States, located on the campus of the University of Colorado in Boulder. It is the home field of the Colorado Buffaloes of the Pac-12 Conference. Opened in 1924, the horseshoe-shaped stadium runs in the traditional north–south configuration, opening to the north. The CU athletic administration center, named after 1950s head coach Dal Ward, is located at the north end. The playing field returned to natural grass in 1999 and sits at an elevation of , more than a mile above sea level. Folsom Field is the third highest stadium in FBS college football, behind only Wyoming and Air Force of the Mountain West Conference. The 1944 Colorado Buffaloes football team was an American football team that represented the University of Colorado as a member of the Mountain States Conference (MSC) during the 1944 college football season. Frank Potts returned for his second season as head coach after having helmed the team in 1940. Colorado compiled an overall record of 6–2 with mark of 2–0 in conference play, winning the MSC title. Gamble Field
Gamble Field was an outdoor sports stadium in the western United States, located on the campus of the University of Colorado in Boulder. It was the predecessor of Folsom Field. History Opened in 1901 on September 21, it was built via the efforts of the university's student body. The field was named after Judge Harry P. Gamble, a six-time (1891–96) football letterman and two-time captain. Seating capacity was initially limited to 1,000 via a wooden grandstand located on the western side of the field, the only side that had seating. The elevation of the playing field was just over above sea level. The Mountain West Conference (MW) is one of the collegiate athletic conferences affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) (formerly I-A). The MW officially began operations on January 4, 1999. Geographically, the MW covers a broad expanse of the Western United States, with member schools located in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. Falcon Stadium is an outdoor football stadium in the western United States, on the campus of the U.S. Air Force Academy near Colorado Springs, Colorado. It is the home field of the Air Force Falcons of the Mountain West Conference, and also holds the academy's graduation ceremonies each spring.
