Follow That Dream (band)
Follow That Dream also known as F.T.D. or FTD was a Dutch pop band made up of Vanessa Eman, Rosa Vuik, Linda Burg Wrath, Peter van der Meer, Ben Saunders, Dean Saunders. Vanessa Eman was the lead singer of the band. The band was formed in 2000 to take part in the Dutch singing competition ''Alles Voor De Band'' on RTL 4. The band had its debut hit single, the self-titled "Follow That Dream" taken from their album ''The Album''. They followed it up with the single "One Night in Shanghai". In May 2001 the group decided to split up, during the hype of the rival and much more popular ''Starmaker'' series. Ben Saunders (born 9 July 1983) is a Dutch singer who won the first-ever title of the Dutch singing competition series ''The Voice of Holland'' broadcast on RTL 4. The final of 2010–2011 season was held live on 21 January 2011. Saunders is also a tattoo artist. He is popularly known as "Tattoo Ben". Early life Saunders is of English origin. ''Idols'' was a television show on the Dutch television network RTL 4, which is part of the Idols series based on the popular British show ''Pop Idol''. The show is a contest to determine the best young singer in the Netherlands. The show is divided in two sections, the first being the audition round, an open audition where everyone who wants to try is allowed to sing. The first couple of shows usually show the worst and the best contenders in these auditions. Once the best are selected, the theater round starts. Here the singers who survived the auditions have to prove they really have what it takes to become an idol. Irene Cara Escalera (March 18, 1959 – November 25, 2022) was an American singer, songwriter and actress of Black, Puerto Rican and Cuban descent. It was staged almost every year between 1956 and 2012 to determine the country's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. ''The Voice of Holland'', also known as ''TVOH'', is a Dutch reality TV singing competition, that became a near global TV format franchise, created by media tycoon John de Mol and musician Roel van Velzen, in the Netherlands airing on RTL 4. Popstars (Netherlands)
Popstars was a singing competition series in the Netherlands. The first season started on 22 August 2008. A second season was aired for 2009-2010 and third season aired in 2010-2011. The winners in season 1 were RED! made up of the three finalist winners Brandi Russell, Steffie Zoontjes and Deon Leon. Wesley Klein won in season 2 and Dean Saunders in season 3. The precursor of these shows was the Dutch version of ''Popstars: The Rivals'' broadcast on RTL 4 in 2004 hosted by Beau van Erven Dorens. The series was won by the boy band Men2B (male category) and girl band Raffish (female category). Both disbanded in 2006.
