''Operation Swallow: The Battle for Heavy Water'' (original title: ''Kampen om tungtvannet'', French title: ''La Bataille de l'eau lourde'') is a Norwegian-French film from 1948. The history is based on the best known commando raid in Norway during World War II, where the resistance group Norwegian Independent Company 1 destroyed the heavy water plant at Vemork in Telemark in February 1943. The film is basically a reconstruction of real events, a docudrama, with many of the participants playing themselves in the film. It was filmed on location in Norway. ''Heksenetter'' (Witch Nights) is a Norwegian drama film from 1954, directed by Leif Sinding. Georg Løkkeberg appears in the main role as Major General Arthur Ranlow. Plot The great war is in its final stages, and Major General Arthur Ranlow orders an attack on the enemy's nuclear facilities. He has an entirely personal motive for the attack because the officers he assigns are men that he suspects are flirting with his wife. All four officers die during the attack. The plot moves forward in time, and Ranlow is in his living room. Sergeant Sander is his servant, and their existence is marked by occult interests. Plot The film takes place in the idyllic town of Solsund, where Per Haug lives. He is a pharmacist, bachelor, amateur painter, and leader of the political opposition in the city council. ''Emergency Landing'' ( no, Nødlanding) is a 1952 Norwegian war film directed by Arne Skouen. It was entered into the 1952 Cannes Film Festival. The film depicts the Norwegian resistance attempting to hide shot-down American aviators from the German occupation forces. Plot An American bomber is shot down on the Norwegian coast during World War II. The airmen bail out and land at different locations. In spite of the German search for them, the Norwegian resistance picks them up and hides them in the attic of the local church, a center of operations.
