State Road 985 (SR 985), locally known as West 107th Avenue, FIU Avenue, and Avenue of the Americas, is a long north–south street in western Miami-Dade County, Florida, serving the communities of Kendall, University Park, Sweetwater, Fontainebleau, and Doral. Route description SR 985 begins at an intersection with SR 990 next to the Killian Parkway interchange of the Don Shula Expressway (SR 874) near the Kendall Campus of Miami-Dade College. It ends at an interchange with the Dolphin Expressway (SR 836) just south of Miami International Mall in Doral. Kendall, Florida
Kendall is a census-designated place in Miami-Dade County, Florida. At the 2020 census, the area had a population of 80,241. While the US Census Bureau has set definite boundaries for Kendall as a CDP, the community has a highly ambiguous local definition. Prior to the 1950s, the term "Kendall" was used to describe a region centered around U.S.-1, bounded by Snapper Creek to the north, the Everglades to the west, Old Cutler Road to the east, and the former community of Rockdale to the south. This area was largely uninhabited, generally consisting of pine rockland interspersed with fields and groves. Killian Parkway
Killian or Kilian, as a given name, is an Anglicized version of the Irish name Cillian. The name Cillian was borne by several early Irish saints including missionaries to Artois and Franconia and the author of the life of St Brigid. The name is said to derive from Saint Kilian, an Irish missionary to Germany in the 7th century, who, according to the Acta Sanctorum, was born in Mullagh, County Cavan, Ireland c. 640. Tamiami Airport
Miami Executive Airport, formerly known until 2014 as Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport, is a public airport in unincorporated Miami-Dade County, Florida, southwest of Downtown Miami.
