Florian Oßner
Florian Oßner (born 5 July 1980) is a German politician of the Christian Social Union (CSU) who has been a member of the Bundestag since the 2013 German federal election. Political career Oßner became member of the Bundestag after the 2013 federal election. He is a member of the budget committee and the committee on transport and digital infrastructure. In addition to his committee assignments, he is part of the German-American Parliamentary Friendship Group and the German-Austrian Parliamentary Friendship Group. From 2014 to 2016, Oßner was one of the members of Germany's temporary National Commission on the Disposal of Radioactive Waste, chaired by Ursula Heinen-Esser and Michael Müller. Bundestag
The Bundestag (, "Federal Diet") is the German federal parliament. It is the only federal representative body that is directly elected by the German people. It is comparable to the United States House of Representatives or the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. The Bundestag was established by Title III of the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany (, ) in 1949 as one of the legislative bodies of Germany and thus it is the historical successor to the earlier Reichstag. Kurt Gribl
Kurt Gribl (born 29 August 1964 Augsburg, Germany) is a former Mayor of Augsburg, Bavaria, an office he held from 1 May 2008 to 30 April 2020. He is a member of the Christian Social Union of Bavaria. Early career Gribl has been practicing law since 1993 when he joined a law firm in Augsburg. He specialized in building and architectural law. In addition, he held teaching positions at Hochschule Mittweida and Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Dresden between 2004 and 2007. Political career Gribl joined the CSU in 2008. In 2015, Bavaria's Minister President Horst Seehofer nominated him as one of his deputies in the office of CSU chairman, making him part of the party's leadership. Reiner Haseloff (born 19 February 1954) is a German politician who serves as the Minister-President, Minister President of Saxony-Anhalt. On 9 October 2020, he was elected President of the Bundesrat. His one-year term started on 1 November 2020. Political career Reiner Haseloff joined the then bloc party CDU of the GDR in 1976. He has been a member of the state executive of the CDU Saxony-Anhalt since 1990 and was deputy district administrator of the Wittenberg district from 1990 to 1992. 2013 German Federal Election
Federal elections were held on 22 September to elect the members of the 18th Bundestag of Germany. At stake were all 598 seats to the Bundestag, plus 33 overhang seats determined thereafter. The Christian Democratic Union of Germany/ Christian Social Union of Bavaria (CDU/CSU) of incumbent chancellor Angela Merkel won their best result since 1990 with nearly 42% of the vote and nearly 50% of the seats, just five short for an overall majority. The Free Democratic Party (FDP) failed to meet the 5% vote electoral threshold in what was their worst showing ever in a federal election, denying them seats in the Bundestag for the first time in their history.
