Florent Marcellesi
Florent Marcellesi (born 1979) is a French politician and activist based in Spain. Federal Co-Spokesperson of Equo since 2020, he previously served as Member of the European Parliament from 2016 to 2019. Biography Born on 10 April 1979 in Angers, France, he is son to a Corsican father and a Polish mother. He studied road engineering in Lyon, and urbanism at Sciences Po in Paris as well as international cooperation at the University of the Basque Country. Involved with the French Greens since 2002, Marcellesi, based in Bilbao since 2004, later joined , a Green party operating in the Basque Country, running as leading candidate of the latter's party in the 2007 Bilbao municipal election. He also promoted the "Platform for Decent Housing" as well as became a member of ''Desazkundea'', a group advocating for degrowth positions. Equo Politicians
Greens Equo (and formerly Q or eQuo) is a Spanish political party founded on 4 June 2011, when 35 Spanish green parties agreed to merge into Equo. It began as a foundation on 24 September 2010 with the goal of becoming "the seed and source of debate about political ecology and social equity, originating a sociopolitical movement". The first election it contested was the 2011 Spanish general election, obtaining 216,748 votes (0.9%), making it the 9th most supported party. The party was fifth in Madrid, achieving representation thanks to the Valencian coalition Compromís-Q, in which Equo participated. Inés Sabanés Nadal (born 1953) is a Spanish eco-socialist politician. She served as Madrid's Councillor for the Environment and Mobility from 2015 to 2019. Biography Born on 24 June 1953 in Cubells, province of Lleida. She moved to Madrid to study at the National Institute for Physical Education (now part of the Technical University of Madrid). She played for the Women's Handball section of Atlético Madrid, as well as for the handball national team. Sabanés, who had become a member of the Unión General de Trabajadores (UGT) and the Socialist Action Party (PASOC) in 1982, was a founding member of the United Left in 1986. Jordi Sebastià i Talavera (born 1966) is a Spanish professor and politician. He was the mayor of Burjassot (2011–2014) and a Member of the European Parliament (2014–2016). Biography Sebastià became a professor of journalism at the University of Valencia in 2004, and has written for ''El Temps''. He has also written independent journalism and is the author of several books. Representing the Valencian Nationalist Bloc (BNV) within the Coalició Compromís, Sebastià was elected to the town hall of his hometown of Burjassot near Valencia in 1999.
