Florencia Cerutti Bogado (born 12 September 1982) is a Laser Radial sailor from Argentina, who made an official debut for her sporting discipline at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. She placed twenty-second in the Laser Radial class, with a score of 125 points at the end of nine races. Shortly after the Olympics, Cerutti had achieved a sixth-place position at the Palamos Christmas Race in Palamos, Spain. The Laser Radial or ILCA 6 is a popular one-design class of small sailing dinghy, originally built by Laser Performance. It is a singlehanded boat, meaning that it is sailed by one person. The Laser Radial is a variant of the Laser standard, with shorter mast and reduced sail area, allowing light sailors to sail in heavy winds. The International Class is recognised by World Sailing. The Chicago Yacht Club is located in Chicago, Illinois. "CYC" is well known as being the Organizing Authority for the Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac held each July. CYC also organizes dozens of other sailboat races and regattas throughout the boating season, which is usually considered May 1 to October 31 in the Chicago area. CYC has two club houses or stations, one at Monroe Harbor and one at Belmont Harbor. History The Chicago Yacht Club was founded in 1875 to encourage and promote the sport of yachting. In 1898, the first Race to Mackinac was held. In 1900, the club obtained its first clubhouse, the Argo clubhouse located at the Illinois Central Pier #3.
