Flag Of Galmudug
The current flag of Galmudug was adopted on 17 June 2015. Initially, it flew the Somali flag, but sometimes above the star a white inscription “State Somaliyya” was added. The second flag used was white with the arms in center. These arms were the Somali national arms between laurel branches, and below a blue ribbon with the white letters GMS. The third flag was light blue with green triangle at the hoist, fimbriated in white, bearing within a white crescent and star. On this was changed the flag to a new design which comprises horizontal stripes of yellow, blue, and green. In the blue central stripe is a white five pointed star. Galmudug ( ar, جلمدج; it, Galmudugh), officially Galmudug State of Somalia ( so, Dowlad Goboleedka Galmudug ee Somalia, Soomaaliya), is a States and regions of Somalia, Federal Member State in central Somalia, with its capital at Dhusamareb. It is bordered to the north by the Puntland state of Somalia, to the west by the Somali Region in Ethiopia, to the east by Indian Ocean and to the south by the Hirshabelle state of Somalia. Consisting of the Galgaduud region and Part of Mudug region, Galmudug's name is derived from a conflation of the names of the two regions. Galmudug is a federal state within the larger Somalia, Federal Republic of Somalia, as defined by the Constitution of Somalia, provisional constitution of Somalia. The flag of Somalia ( so, Calanka Soomaaliyeed, ar, علم الصومال), also known as the Somali flag, was adopted on October 12, 1954, and was designed by Mohammed Awale Liban. The flag was initially used within the Trust Territory of Somaliland before being adopted by the short-lived State of Somaliland and the Somali Republic.
