Kim Ki-duk (director)
Kim Ki-duk (29 September 1934 – 7 September 2017) was a South Korean film director and professor. Best known outside of Korea for his 1967 giant monster film '' Yongary'', Kim Ki-duk directed 66 movies in total from his directorial debut in 1961 until his retirement from the film industry in 1977. Along with Kim Soo-yong and Lee Man-hee, Kim was one of the leading young directors of the Korean cinematic wave of the 1960s. The most distinctive and successful genre of this period was the melodrama ( 청춘영화 - ''cheongchun yeonghwa''). He is not related to Kim Ki-duk, the South Korean director of ''3-Iron''. Career Kim Ki-duk studied creative writing at Seorabeol Arts University, which later merged with Chung-Ang University. After graduating in 1956, Kim entered the film industry, first working as an editorial engineer. Shin Young-kyun (born November 6, 1928) is a South Korean actor, film producer, and politician. Biography Shin Young-kyun was born in Pyongsan, Hwanghae Province (now part of North Korea) in 1928. When he was 10 years old, Shin went to Seoul. While studying dentistry at Seoul National University, he participated in a drama club where he got to know Park Am, Gil Yok-yun, and Lee Nak-hoon, who later became actors and composer. Choi Moo-ryong (February 25, 1928 – November 11, 1999) was South Korean actor, producer, and director who is father of Choi Min-soo Biography Choi was born in Paju, Gyeonggi province, Korea under Japanese rule, Korea. Choi was one of popular actors of the 1960s along with Shin Young-kyun and Kim Jin-kyu (actor), Kim Jin-kyu. Choi gained a popularity for his handsome appearance and masculine image. Choi's personal life was as much dramatic as his starred films, so he always garnered the public attention. 1952, Choi married a colleague actress, Kang Hyo-shil, the daughter of a noted actress, Jeon Ok with the nickname, "Queen of Tears" and a singer Gang Hong-sik.
