Fitzlloyd Walker
Fitzloyd 'Fitz' Dean Walker (born 7 March 1959) is a Jamaican-British retired wrestler and judoka, who represented Great Britain and England. In wrestling, he won medals at the Commonwealth Games and Commonwealth Championship, along with being a record-setting fourteen-time British champion. Wrestling career Walker began training in wrestling at the YMCA in 1973 at his judo instructor's suggestion. For international competition, Walker represented Jamaica at the 1978 Commonwealth Games. Walker then competed at the 1980 Summer Olympics, becoming the first black wrestler to represent Great Britain at the Olympics. He later competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics and the 1988 Summer Olympics. He represented England in the 74kg weight class and finished in sixth place at the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The British Judo Championships are held annually and feature various age and weight categories to determine the British champion. The Championships are currently held at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield. Until 2013, the Championships were held under the title of either the British Closed Championships or the British Senior Trials.
