Fitzgerald Senior High School is a public high school located in Warren, Michigan in Metro Detroit. The school is part of Fitzgerald Public Schools, and is located at 9 Mile and Ryan. The school colors are blue and gold, and the school mascot is the Spartans. Fitzgerald is ranked the third most diverse school in Michigan, with over 40 different cultures and ethnicities. Fitzgerald High School had 910 students enrolled for the 2012-13 school year. History Named after former Michigan governor Frank Fitzgerald, Fitzgerald High opened around the 1920s-1930s as a two-room school (present day Lafayette club, on Ryan south of 10 mile) with over 100 students in 1930. Frank Fitzgerald
Frank Dwight Fitzgerald (January 27, 1885 – March 16, 1939) was an American politician. He was elected as the 34th and 36th Governor of Michigan and was the only Michigan governor to die in office. Early life Fitzgerald was born in Grand Ledge, Michigan, the son of John Wesley Fitzgerald, a member of the Michigan State House of Representatives from Eaton County, Michigan, 1st District, 1895–1896, and Carrie G. Carlos English is an American professional basketball player who is currently a free agent. He played collegiately with the Cleveland State University Vikings of the Horizon League. English is currently a member of the Harlem Globetrotters and performs under the nickname Dizzy. Joe Kopicki
Joseph Gerard Kopicki (born 12 June 1960) is a former American basketball player. At and , he played the power forward position. Biography Kopicki played basketball at Fitzgerald High School in Warren, Michigan, his hometown. He was named to the First Team Class A All-State squad and selected as Macomb County Player of the Year in 1978. During his career at the University of Detroit, Kopicki tallied 1,410 points and 771 rebounds. Kopicki was drafted in the third round of the 1982 NBA Draft (56th pick overall) by the Atlanta Hawks. However, he was waived by the Hawks on October 19. He signed as a free agent with the Indiana Pacers three days later, but was again waived on October 27 before the start of the season.
