First Kejriwal Cabinet
The First Kejriwal cabinet was the Council of Ministers in fifth Delhi Legislative Assembly headed by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. History Kejriwal was then sworn in as 7th Chief Minister of Delhi on 28 December, leading the First Kejriwal cabinet, the youngest cabinet in Delhi ever. M. S. Dhir was elected as the speaker of the legislative assembly on 3 January 2014. Amongst its first tasks, the AAP initiated a corruption response mechanism in a "''durbar''"; it also retracted the FDI in multi-brand retail that the previous government had sanctioned. Kejriwal said that though this would give consumers more options it has been shown that it "leads to loss of jobs to a very large extent. There is huge unemployment in Delhi and the AAP government does not wish to increase this unemployment. Delhi is not prepared for FDI." The Jan Lokpal Bill, also referred to as the Citizen's Ombudsman Bill, was a bill drawn up by civil society activists in India seeking the appointment of a Jan Lokpal, an independent body to investigate corruption cases and complete the investigation within a year for envisaging trial in the case getting completed within one year. The Jan Lokpal aimed to deter corruption, compensate citizen grievances, and protect whistle-blowers. The prefix ''Jan'' () signifies that these improvements include inputs provided by "ordinary citizens" through an activist-driven, non-governmental public consultation. Arvind Kejriwal (Hindi: ɾʋin̪d̪ ked͡ʒɾiːʋaːl born 16 August 1968) is an Indian politician, former bureaucrat and activist who is serving as the 7th and current Chief Minister of Delhi since 2015. He is also the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, which won the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections with a historic majority, obtaining 67 out of 70 seats.
