Finjan Holdings (Finjan) is a company that focuses on the licensing of intellectual property. Finjan claims to own patented technology used in enterprise web security tools. Formerly a publicly traded company on NASDAQ (FNJN), it was acquired by the Fortress Investment Group in 2020. Finjan has filed a large number of lawsuits against leading software security companies asserting its patents including against: Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, NortonLifeLock, Symantec, Blue Coat Systems, Sophos, Trend Micro, ESET, Bitdefender, Check Point, Qualys, Rapid7, Fortinet and others. As such, Finjan has been named a patent troll. The original hardware and software divisions of Finjan were acquired by M86 Security in 2009. Shlomo Touboul ( he, שלמה טובול) is an Israelis, Israeli business executive and inventor who has founded several companies including Finjan and Shany (or Shani) Computers. He is currently the President and CEO of Illusive Networks, a startup from the Israel-based incubator, Team8. Career Touboul's career began in earnest with the founding of Shani (or Shany) Computers in 1985. The Israeli company and its California subsidiary were sold to Intel in 1994 for between $15 million and $20 million. This sale marked the first time a United States corporation had come to Israel to purchase a startup. He went on to work for Intel as a manager in their Network Management Business Unit. Polymorphic Code
In computing, polymorphic code is code that uses a polymorphic engine to mutate while keeping the original algorithm intact - that is, the ''code'' changes itself every time it runs, but the ''function'' of the code (its semantics) will not change at all. For example, the simple math expressions 3+1 and 6-2 both achieve the same result, yet run with different machine code in a CPU. This technique is sometimes used by computer viruses, shellcodes and computer worms to hide their presence. Encryption is the most common method to hide code. With encryption, the main body of the code (also called its payload) is encrypted and will appear meaningless. For the code to function as before, a decryption function is added to the code. Biography Born into a Sephardic Jewish family originating from Toledo, Spain, Benhamou left Algeria in 1960 with his parents during Algeria's independence war.
