Filmtecknarna
FilmTecknarna is a Swedish animation studio formed by Jonas Odell, Lars Ohlson, Stig Bergkvist, and Martti Ekstrand in 1981. History The studio started out producing their own independent films before moving into commercials and music videos. The studio has become known for an eclectic blend of animation and live action. FilmTecknarna today consists of three companies: FilmTecknarna Stockholm (focused on the production of TV-commercials and music videos), FilmTecknarna Inc. (based in New York City and focused on producing commercials, broadcast graphics, and music videos for the U.S. market), and finally, FilmTecknarna Fiction, that devotes itself to the development and production of long-format productions, such as TV-series, short films and feature films. Jonas Odell
Jonas Odell (born 10 November 1962 in Stockholm) is a Swedish music video and film director and founder of FilmTecknarna. Odell, who specializes in a mix of animation and live action, has directed a number of short films, music videos and commercials. His short film '' Never Like the First Time!'' (''Aldrig som första gången!'') was awarded the Golden Bear for best short film in the Berlin International Film Festival 2006. He has won two Swedish Guldbagge Awards for Best Short Film, for ''Never Like the First Time!'' (2006) and '' Lies'' (''Lögner'') (2008). ''Lies'' also received the Jury Prize for International Short Filmmaking at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. Joakim Pirinen
Joakim Pirinen (born 28 May 1961 in Solna, Stockholm County) is a Swedish illustrator, author, and comic creator. One of the most acclaimed artists to make his debut during the 1980s wave of "artistic" and "adult" comics in Sweden, Pirinen was, and still is, a regular contributor to the Swedish alternative comics magazine ''Galago''. Pirinen's comic album debut came in 1984 with ''Välkommen Till Sandlådan'' (''"Welcome to the Sandbox"''), but his true breakthrough came with ''Socker-Conny'' (''"Sugar-Conny"'') in 1985, a graphic novel about an anarchistic borderline personality. A short film is any motion picture that is short enough in running time not to be considered a feature film. An animation studio is a company producing animated media. The broadest such companies conceive of products to produce, own the physical equipment for production, employ operators for that equipment, and hold a major stake in the sales or rentals of the media produced.
