Filip Hjelmland
Filip Hjelmland (born 10 September 1998) is a speedway rider from Sweden. Speedway career Hjelmland came to prominence in 2017 when he won a silver medal at the European U19 Championship. He became a regular member of the Sweden national under-21 speedway team and helped them win a bronze medal at the 2019 Team Junior European Championship final. He was then called up to the Sweden national speedway team and represented them in the 2019 Speedway of Nations. Elit Vetlanda Speedway
Vetlanda Speedway were a motorcycle speedway team based in Vetlanda, Sweden. Earlier known as Njudungarna and VMS Elit, the club was formed in 1946, and arranged their first meeting three years later. In 2003 when the club was promoted to the top division of Swedish speedway league, the Elitserien Elitserien (literally, "the Elite League") is the name of several Swedish nationwide sport leagues. Vargarna
Vargarna are a Swedish motorcycle speedway team based in Norrköping, Sweden. The team race at the Norrköpings Motorstadion. History The name Vargarna literally translates into English as "The Wolves". The team won the Swedish Speedway Team Championship five times 1949, 1951, 1953, 1954, 1960 and 1961. In recent years the club has moved up and down leagues from the Elitserien to the second tier of Swedish speedway, the Allsvenskan (National League). During the 2022 Swedish Speedway season the club reached the Allsvenskan play off final. Perhaps the club's most notable rider in recent years was the former world champion Nicki Pedersen, who signed for the team in 2010. Dackarna is a speedway club from MÃ¥lilla in Sweden who compete in the Swedish Elitserien. Their home track is at the Skrotfrag Arena which has been used as the venue for the Grand Prix of Scandinavia since 2005. History The team was founded in May 1935 as MÃ¥lilla Motorklubb and in 1949 renamed itself Dackarna (in honour of Nils Dacke) and the club began league racing. Dackarna raced in the highest level of league racing in Sweden between 1951 and 1965, winning the league championship in 1957, 1958, 1959, and 1962, and finished as runners-up in 1956 and 1964. Dackarna switched between the first and second league for the next 30 years until 1997 when the team received the backing of a major new sponsor (Svelux) and were renamed Team Svelux. Svelux were taken over by Luxo in 2002 and the team name was changed to Luxo Stars. In 2006 the sponsorship deal expired and the team name reverted to Dackarna. Stal Gorzów Wielkopolski is a Polish speedway team based in Gorzów Wielkopolski that currently competes in Speedway Ekstraliga. History Formation and beginnings The speedway section of club was officially registered 9 April 1950. At number 60 the register of sports associations was written down trade union sports club of Gorzów Wielkopolski. In July 1951 the Gorzów Wielkopolski club already had own 395-metres with path by the Śląska Street. Motorcycle Speedway
Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand). The Sweden national under-21 speedway team is the national under-21 motorcycle speedway team of Sweden and is controlled by the SVEMO. The team started in Under-21 World Cup in all editions and won four medals: two silver (2005 and 2006) and two bronze (2008 and 2009). Denmark has produced three Under-21 World Champions: Peter Nahlin (1988), Mikael Karlsson (1994) and Andreas Jonsson (2000). 2019 Team Speedway Junior European Championship
The 2019 Team Speedway Junior European Championship was the 12th Team Speedway Junior European Championship season. It was organised by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme and was the 8th as an under 21 years of age event. The final took place on 28 September 2019 in Lamothe-Landerron, France. The defending champions Denmark and eight times winners Poland both finished on 50 points each. As a result a run-off was required and Poland's Jakub Miśkowiak beat Jonas Seifert-Salk to reclaim the title for Poland. Sweden are one of the major teams in international speedway. They have been managed by Mats Olsson, who is currently in his 2nd spell, since 2005 after he quit in 2000. 2019 Speedway Of Nations
The 2019 Speedway of Nations was the second FIM Speedway of Nations. The competition consisted of two race-off events and a two-legged final. The event was won by Russia for the second consecutive year. They beat Poland in the Grand Final with Australia taking the bronze medal. Format The 2019 Speedway of Nations was a pairs event, with each nation being represented by two senior riders and one rider under the age of 21. Each meeting was staged over 21 heats with the scores from each rider added together to give a total for each nation.
