Fiji National Netball Team
The Fiji National Netball Team better known at the Fijian Pearls represents Fiji in international netball competition. Fiji have competed at nine World Netball Championships, finishing sixth in their best placing at the 1999 tournament. They have also competed at two Commonwealth Games, and won the netball event at the South Pacific Games for a number of years. They have won gold at every games since 1991. They are also the current Pacific Champions, winning the all Pacific Series since its inception. As of 21 July 2019, the Fijian team are Seventeenth in the INF World Rankings. They were captained by Matila Waqanidrola, and coached by Gabriel Qoro and Unaisi Rokoura. The Fiji National Netball Team are now known as the Fijian Pearls after securing their sponsorship in May 2013 with The Pearl South Pacific Resort. Oceania Netball Federation ...
The Oceania Netball Federation is the regional body within the International Federation of Netball Associations that governs netball across Oceania. The current president is Wainikiti Bogidrau from Fiji. There are currently twenty four countries within the Oceania region. There are seven full members with New Zealand the only one with elite status. Realistically only thirteen nations, predominantly Commonwealth nations, play the game. Asilika Sevutia (born 15 July 1988) is a Fijian netball player and current vice captain of the Fiji national team who plays in the positions of center, wing attack or wing defense. Eastbourne
Eastbourne () is a town and seaside resort in East Sussex, on the south coast of England, east of Brighton and south of London. Eastbourne is immediately east of Beachy Head, the highest chalk sea cliff in Great Britain and part of the larger Eastbourne Downland Estate. The 1963 World Netball Championships was the first edition of the INF Netball World Cup, a quadrennial international netball competition. It was held from 2 August to 14 August and in Eastbourne, England. It featured 11 teams. In a round robin style format, Australia won all of their matches and considered the inaugural title holders. Netball World Cup
The Netball World Cup is a quadrennial international netball world championship organised by the World Netball, inaugurated in 1963 World Netball Championships, 1963. Afa Rusivakula
Unouna Afa Rusivakula (born 22 June 1992) is a Fijian netball player. Rusivakula began playing in Fiji with the Shine On team in the Lautoka Netball Association. She made her international Test debut for Fiji in the 2011 Pacific Netball Series against Papua New Guinea, playing at goal shooter/goal attack. She represented Fiji in the 2011 World Netball Championships and the 2015 Netball World Cup, and had reached 38 international caps by 2015. She played for the Capital Force in Fiji's Digicel Punjas Netball Super League in 2015 and 2016, winning the premiership in 2016; she also played for the Wardens Netball Club in the Suva Netball Association. Outside of sport, Rusivakula trained as a correctional officer. Vilimaina Davu
Vilimaina Davu (born 15 January 1977 in Nadi, Fiji) is a Fijian and New Zealand netball player, who has represented both countries in international netball as a goal keeper. Netball career On the netball court she was a veteran of more than 100 international tests. She made her senior international debut for Fiji in 1993, playing in 57 tests for her country of birth until 1999. In June 2000, Vilimaina was part of Team Pasifika who met the Silver Ferns in Auckland on 27 June and Palmerston North on 29 June. She then went on to join the World 7 team who played against the Silver Ferns, coached by Jill McIntosh. The World 7 team featured Kath Harby (Australia), Elaine Davis (Jamaica), Leana Du Plooy (South Africa) and Vilimaina Davu (Fiji) and Team Pasifika. Vicki Wilson
Vicki Wilson, OAM, (born 11 February 1965 in Brisbane, Queensland) is an Australian netball coach and retired international player. She is the current head coach of the Netball Fiji side. Netball career Wilson was a part of the Australian national netball team for fifteen years, making her debut in 1985. Wilson became captain of the Australian netball team in 1996, while on the comeback trail from a knee injury sustained at the 1995 Netball World Championships. Lydia Panapasa (born 14 September 2000) is a Fijian netball player and former national shot putter who plays for Fiji in the position of goal shooter. She was included in the Fijian squad for the 2019 Netball World Cup which was also her maiden appearance at a Netball World Cup.
