"Fiesta En America" (English: "Party in the Americas") is a song written by Honorio Herrero and performed by Puerto Rican singer Chayanne. A portuguese version titled "Canta America" was recorded by the singer for the Brazilian edition for the album. It was released as his first single from his third album Chayanne. The song was re-recorded as a rock version. The version last to 6 minutes. It was included in Grandes Éxitos. Elmer Figueroa Arce (born June 28, 1968), better known under the stage name Chayanne, is a Puerto Rican Latin pop singer and actor. As a solo artist, Chayanne has released 21 albums and sold over 50 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling Latin music artists. Chayanne participated in two Puerto Rican telenovelas broadcast by the well-known WAPA-TV television station as for the 80s. ''Chayanne'' is the third album from Puerto Rican artist Chayanne, released on Sony on 1987, and his first album under that label. Album history ''Chayanne'' is the first album by the singer released by CBS Columbia (now Sony Music Entretaiment) and was produced by Ronnie Foster. "Fiesta En America" and "Peligro de Amor" peaked at number four on the ''Billboard'' Hot Latin Tracks chart. "Fiesta En America" ranked 49th in the 2008 recap for the '100 Greatest Songs of the 80's in Spanish' by VH1 Latin America. In 1988, the album was released in Portuguese for Brazil which included "Não Posso Mais Viver Assim", a Portuguese cover of the Italian song "L'Amore È Quando Non C'è Più", originally performed by the Italian singer Euro Cristiani in 1979. Salsa music is a style of Latin American music. Because most of the basic musical components predate the labeling of salsa, there have been many controversies regarding its origin. Most songs considered as salsa are primarily based on son montuno, with elements of Mambo (music), mambo, Latin jazz, Bomba (Puerto Rico), bomba, plena and guaracha. All of these elements are adapted to fit the basic son montuno template when performed within the context of salsa. Ronnie Foster (born May 12, 1950) is an American funk and soul jazz organist, and record producer. His albums recorded for Blue Note Records in the 1970s have gained a cult following after the emergence of acid jazz. Early life Foster was born in Buffalo, New York, on May 12, 1950. He attended Public School 8, Woodlawn Jr. High for a year, McKinley Vocational High School for two years, and then spent his final year at Lafayette High School. The only formal musical instruction he received was a month of accordion lessons. VH1 Latin America was a music channel from ViacomCBS-owned ViacomCBS Networks Americas. The network was launched on April 1, 2004 exclusively on Cablevisión D.F. in Mexico, and in the rest of the region some months later. The channel targeted audience from 19 to 44 years old and played local and international music videos from the 1970s to the 2000s. It also aired famous countdowns from VH1 United States.
