Fernando Aguiar
Fernando João Lobo Aguiar (born 18 March 1972) is a Canadian former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. He was arguably Canada's second most successful player to have competed in Portugal, after Alex Bunbury, and was one of about a dozen Portuguese Canadians to have played football in the country. He amassed Primeira Liga totals of 138 matches and 13 goals over six seasons, appearing in the competition for MarÃtimo, Beira-Mar, Benfica, União de Leiria and Penafiel; he added 195/25 in the Segunda Liga. Aguiar represented Canada internationally. Chaves () is a city and a municipality in the north of Portugal. It is 10 km south of the Spanish border and 22 km south of VerÃn (Spain). The population in 2011 was 41,243, in an area of 591.23 km2. American Professional Soccer League
The American Professional Soccer League (APSL) was a professional men's soccer league with teams from the United States and later Canada. It was formed in 1990 by the merger of the third American Soccer League with the Western Soccer League. It was the first outdoor soccer league to feature teams from throughout the United States since the demise of the North American Soccer League in 1984. The league was sanctioned as Division II in the United States soccer league system but was the country's ''de facto'' top professional soccer league until 1995. In 1993, the APSL applied for the vacant Division I role but lost out to Major League Soccer who would begin play in 1996. The Taça de Portugal (; "Cup of Portugal") is an annual association football competition and the premier knockout tournament in Portuguese football. For sponsorship reasons, it has been known as Taça de Portugal Placard since the 2015–16 season. Organised by the Portuguese Football Federation since it was first held in 1938, the competition is open to professional and amateur clubs from the top-four league divisions. Miklós Fehér
Miklós "Miki" Fehér (; 20 July 1979 – 25 January 2004) was a Hungarian professional footballer who played as a striker. He spent most of his nine-year career in Portugal, representing four clubs and amassing Primeira Liga totals of 80 games and 27 goals. On 25 January 2004, he died of a cardiac arrest during a match between Vitória de Guimarães and his team Benfica in Guimarães. In association football, an assist is a contribution by a player which helps to score a goal. The term "last-minute goal" is used in sport, primarily association football, to describe a goal scored very late in a game, usually one that affects the outcome of the game. 2000–01 Primeira Liga
The 2000–01 Primeira Liga was the 67th edition of the top flight of Portuguese football. It started on 19 August 2000 with a match between Braga and Vitória de Guimarães, and ended on 27 May 2001. The league was contested by 18 clubs, with Sporting CP as the defending champions. Boavista won their first league title, becoming only the second champions from outside the Portuguese "Big Three" (''Os Três Grandes'') of Benfica, Porto and Sporting, after Belenenses in the 1945–46 season. Boavista qualified for the 2001–02 UEFA Champions League group stage along with Porto, who entered the second qualifying round. Sporting and MarÃtimo qualified for the 2001–02 UEFA Cup.
