Fern Creek High School
Fern Creek High School is a communications, JROTC, and a media and arts school in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. It is part of Jefferson County Public Schools. Founded in 1923, it was the first high school in the Jefferson County (Kentucky) School System. It has an enrollment of approximately 1,900 students. History On 30th September 2014, at least one shot was fired at the school. One student with non-life-threatening injuries was transported to a local hospital. The high school and a nearby elementary school were placed on lock-down while authorities searched for the gunman. A suspect described as a student was apprehended nearby about three hours after the shooting. John Givens (basketball)
John Givens (May 12, 1926 – December 8, 2009) was an American basketball player and coach. Boarn and raised in McHenry in Ohio County, Kentucky, Givens played college basketball at Western Kentucky University for coach E.A. Diddle. He was drafted by the NBA's Rochester Royals in the sixth round of the 1950 draft. Givens was a starting guard on the 1950–51 Sheboygan Red Skins of the National Professional Basketball League. The Red Skins finished with the league's best record at 29–16, after which the league dissolved. Givens was one of the league's most electric performers and finished seventh in NPBL scoring with 569 points in 44 games, a 12.9 per-game average. Givens became the first head coach of the Kentucky Colonels during the American Basketball Association's first season in 1967–1968. Mario Urrutia, Jr. (born January 18, 1986) is a former American football wide receiver. Urrutia is also a co-owner of the Kentucky Xtreme. Richard Schmidt (basketball)
Richard Schmidt (born September 3, 1942) is the men's basketball coach at the University of Tampa (NCAA Division II), where he has served since 1983. Prior to his tenure at Tampa, Schmidt coached the Vanderbilt University for two seasons, and was an assistant for the University of Virginia. He began his coaching career in 1969 at Ballard High School in Louisville, Kentucky where he had a record of 183–32 in seven seasons, including the state championship in 1977. While at Ballard High School, he coached future Virginia Cavalier and NBA player Jeff Lamp. He went to Virginia with Lamp and two other former Ballard players. Temple Baptist Seminary is the graduate school of Christian theology of Piedmont International University. Originally established as "Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary" in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1948, the name was changed to Temple Baptist Theological Seminary five years later, after the Southern Baptist Convention founded its own Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Tennessee Temple University was a private Christian university in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Temple Baptist Seminary was the university's graduate school of Christian theology, also operating in Chattanooga. The university merged with Piedmont International University in 2015.
