Fergal Horgan
Fergal Horgan (born 1979) is an Irish hurling referee and former player. His inter-county career saw him play for Tipperary and London. He later became one of hurling's top officials and refereed three All Ireland Senior Hurling Finals before retiring from inter-county refereeing in April 2023. Career Born in Dundrum, County Tipperary, Horgan first came to prominence as a member of the Knockavilla–Donaskeigh Kickhams club at juvenile and underage levels, winning county under-21 championship A honours as a 15 yr old. He later joined the senior team and enjoyed some divisional success before lining out with the Brother Pearses and Seán Treacy's clubs in London. Knockavilla–Donaskeigh Kickhams GAA
Knockavilla–Donaskeigh Kickhams GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Dundrum, County Tipperary in Ireland. The club participates in both Gaelic football and hurling competitions organised by Tipperary GAA. History The club was formed in 1935 when Knockavilla, Donaskeigh and Dundrum amalgamated to form the Kickham club. This meeting is believed to have been taken place at the newly built Chaplain's house at the Convent Cross. The first officers were President - Rev Fr. Michael Quinlan, Chairman – Sean O’Dwyer, Vice-chairman – Paddy Cleary, Secretary – Con McCarthy, Treasurer – Michael Ryan (D). In that first year the club won the West Senior Hurling Championship and again three years later in 1938. The club won twelve further west senior hurling titles between 1946 and 1960. The 2020 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final, the 133rd event of its kind and the culmination of the 2020 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, was played at Croke Park in Dublin on 13 December 2020. The match was televised live on RTÉ2 as part of ''The Sunday Game'', presented by Joanne Cantwell from the outside studio at Croke Park, with analysis by Anthony Daly, Donal Óg Cusack and Henry Shefflin. James Owens (born 1977) is an Irish hurling referee. Born in Kilrush / Askamore, County Wexford, he has become one of the top referees over the last few years and has officiated at several All-Ireland finals in minor, under-21 and club levels. He is a member of the Askamore club in Wexford. Owens refereed the 2015 and 2018 All-Ireland final's and was again named to referee the 2019 final. The 2017 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 130th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. The championship began on 23 April 2017 and ended on 3 September 2017. The draw for the championship was held on 13 October 2016 and was broadcast live on RTÉ2. The GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship, known simply as the All-Ireland Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Brian Gavin (born 13 July 1977) is an Irish hurling referee. Career A native of Clara, County Offaly, Gavin is one of the sport's top referees and officiated at All-Ireland finals in minor, under-21, and the senior final in 2011. The 2002 All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship was the 19th staging of the All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1961.
