Portuguese Volleyball SuperCup
The Portuguese Volleyball Super Cup or Supertaça de Portugal is an annual Portuguese volleyball competition played by the champions of the Campeonato Nacional de Voleibol and the winners of the Taça de Portugal de Voleibol. It is organized by the Federação Portuguesa de Voleibol and its first edition (won by Benfica) took place in 1990. Sporting CP won the next three, with Castêlo da Maia and Sporting de Espinho dominating the next eight years, winning four titles each. In 2002, the tournament was interrupted and only resumed in 2010, with Castêlo da Maia winning its fifth. From 2011 to 2016, Benfica won six Supertaças in a row, becoming the most honoured club in the competition, currently with 11 trophies. Portugal Women's National Volleyball Team
The Portugal women's national volleyball team is controlled by the Federação Portuguesa de Voleibol (Portuguese Volleyball Federation) and represents Portugal in international women's volleyball competitions and friendly matches. Portugal Men's National Volleyball Team
The Portugal men's national volleyball team is the team representing Portugal in volleyball competitions. Their best results to date are winning the 2010 Men's European Volleyball League in Spain, the second place in the 2007 Men's European Volleyball League, 3rd at the 2009 Men's European Volleyball League, both tournaments hosted in Portugal, 4th in the 1948 Men's European Volleyball Championship in Italy, the 5th place at the 2005 FIVB World League in Serbia and Montenegro, 7th in the 1951 Men's European Volleyball Championship hosted in France and reaching the 8th place in the 2002 FIVB Men's World Championship in Argentina. The Portuguese First Division Women's Volleyball National Championship ( pt, Campeonato Nacional de Voleibol – 1ª Divisão) is the highest professional women's volleyball league in Portugal. It is organized and administrated by the Portuguese Volleyball Federation (FPV). History The competition is contested since its inaugural season in 1959–60. It was renamed ( pt, Divisão de Honra) for the 1983–84, 1986–87 and 1987–88 seasons.
