Federation Of Bandy And Field Hockey USSR
Federation of bandy and field hockey USSR (Russian: Федерация хоккея с мячом и хоккея на траве СССР) was the governing body for the sports of bandy and field hockey in the Soviet Union. The federation was governing these two sports since 1967, when ice hockey was split off to form the Soviet Union Ice Hockey Federation; ice hockey had only been introduced to the Soviet Union some twenty years earlier. The federation was one of the founding members of the Federation of International Bandy in 1955. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union in late 1991, the federation was replaced by the All Russian Bandy Federation in early 1992. For field hockey, the Russian Field Hockey Federation was created in its place. Estonian Bandy Association (Estonian: ''Eesti Jääpalliliit'' and find info web: "estbandy") is the governing body for the sport of bandy in Estonia. It has its office in Kurtna, Harju County and became a member of the Federation of International Bandy (FIB) in 2002. As of January 2022, it has three member clubs. Estonia met Finland in six bandy friendlies in the interwar years, but after the Soviet era of 1940–1990, it took some time for Estonia to refound its own national team again. Bandy is a winter sport and ball sport played by two teams wearing ice skates on a large ice surface (either indoors or outdoors) while using sticks to direct a ball into the opposing team's goal. The international governing body for bandy is the Federation of International Bandy (FIB). The playing surface, called a bandy field or bandy rink, is a sheet of ice which measures 90–110 meters by 45–65 meters – about the size of a football pitch. The field is considerably larger than the ice rinks commonly used for ice hockey, rink bandy, or figure skating. Ukrainian Bandy and Rink bandy Federation (Ukrainian: Українська федерація хокею з м'ячем та рінк-бенді (УФХМР)) known by the abbreviation, "UBRF", is the governing body for the sports of bandy and rink bandy in Ukraine. The UBRF was founded in 2007 and is based in Dnipro. The federation became a member of the Federation of International Bandy (FIB) in 2008. In 2012 the organization made progress and developed its modern orientation towards the growth of bandy in the Ukraine. Kazakhstan Bandy Federation (Qazaqstan Bendı Federatsııasy) is the governing body for the sport of bandy in Kazakhstan. It is based in Nur-Sultan. Its president is Oralbay Zhaksymbetov, while Vladimir Pashkovsky is Vice-President. Bandy has been played for many decades in Kazakhstan when the country belonged to the Soviet Union. The Kazakh club Dynamo Alma-Ata became Soviet national champions in 1977 and in 1990. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, the Kazakh federation was founded in 1993 and became a member of the Federation of International Bandy the same year.
