Fasih Mohammed
Fasih Mahmood aka ''Fasih Mohammed'' is an alleged member of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistan-based Islamist terror group. A native of Bihar, he is accused of committing terrorist attacks and recruiting members for terror related activities. He was arrested with suspected involvement with the 2010 Chinnaswamy Stadium blast in Bangalore and a terror attack near Jama Masjid (Delhi) in 2010 and is wanted by both Delhi and Karnataka Police. Early life Mehmood, originally from Bihar's Madhubani district, had moved to Saudi Arabia in 2007 after obtaining his Bachelor's in technology degree. He is an engineer by training. Militancy Delhi Police sources claimed that Fasih Mahmood was involved with radicalizing Students Islamic Movement of India (Simi) into a deadly Indian Mujahideen (IM). Lashkar-e-Taiba
Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT; ur, ; literally ''Army of the Good'', translated as ''Army of the Righteous'', or ''Army of the Pure'' and alternatively spelled as ''Lashkar-e-Tayyiba'', ''Lashkar-e-Toiba'', ''Lashkar-i-Taiba'', ''Lashkar-i-Tayyeba'') is a militant Islamist organisation operating against India in Pakistan. The organization's stated objective is to merge the whole of Kashmir with Pakistan. It was founded by Hafiz Saeed, Abdullah Azzam and several other Islamist mujahideen with funding from Osama bin Laden during the Soviet-Afghan War. 2010 Bangalore Stadium Bombing
2010 Bangalore stadium bombing occurred on 17 April 2010 in M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore, India before a 2010 Indian Premier League match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. Two bombs exploded around a heavily packed Cricket stadium in which fifteen people were injured. A third bomb was defused outside the stadium. According to the Bangalore City Police, the blasts were caused by low-intensity crude bombs made of powergel which is used in quarrying and were triggered by timers. On 18 April, two more bombs were located near the stadium during search operations. Yasin Bhatkal of the Indian Mujahideen is the prime accused in the case (among 14 others of whom 7 have been apprehended), another accused Mohammad Qateel Siddiqui – also of the Indian Mujahideen – was killed by inmates at the Yerawada Central Jail for his alleged involvement in the attack. 2010 Jama Masjid Attack
The 2010 Jama Masjid attack occurred on 19 September 2010 when two gunmen on a motorcycle fired at a tourist bus near Gate 3 of the Jama Masjid in Old Delhi, India and injured two Taiwanese tourists. The incident provoked fears about security for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Delhi. About three hours later a car parked approximately 150 meters from the spot caught fire, apparently due to a minor blast. Two bike-borne gunmen opened fire at a stationary tourist bus purportedly carrying a TV crew from Taiwan at 11:24 pm, near Gate 3 of Jama Masjid. An explosive-laden device was planted in a Maruti 800 car, parked near a transformer near the mosque. Students Islamic Movement Of India
The Students' Islamic Movement of India (abbreviated SIMI) is a banned terrorist organisation that was formed in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh in April 1977. The stated mission of SIMI is the ‘liberation of India’ by converting it to an Islamic land. The SIMI, an organisation of extremists has declared Jihad against India, the aim of which is to establish Dar-ul-Islam (land of Islam) by either forcefully converting everyone to Islam or by violence. The Indian government describes it as a terrorist organisation, and banned it in 2001, shortly after the 9/11 attacks.
