Farmington High School is a comprehensive education, comprehensive public high school located in the town of Farmington, Arkansas, Secondary education in the United States, United States. The school provides secondary education for students in grades 10 through 12. It is one of nine public high schools in Washington County, Arkansas and the sole high school administered by the Farmington School District. The high school's boundary includes the majority of Farmington and sections of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Fayetteville. In 1924, a high school of brick construction was erected and served nearly 100 students after the district was consolidated. In the 1960s, this building was destroyed in a fire, but replaced by other facilities. The school district launched a massive project in 2014 that resulted in a new performing arts center, high school, football stadium and track field. Farmington High School is a public high school in Farmington, Connecticut serving grades 9-12. In Newsweek's 2005 poll, FHS was ranked #1 in Connecticut and #271 in the nation, scoring high on both the challenge index and the equity and excellence index. In June 2017, a town vote to build a new school occurred. The main argument for was that the current building and facilities had aged severely and were in need of modernization. Due to budget concerns, the vote failed. In June 2021, another referendum was held to renovate the school at an estimated cost of $135.6 million; this referendum passed by a wide margin. Farmington Central High School, or FCHS, is a public four-year high school located at 310 North Lightfoot Road across the Peoria County line from Farmington, Illinois, a town of Fulton County, Illinois. FCHS is part of Farmington Central Community Unit School District 265, which also includes Farmington Central Junior High School, and Farmington Central Elementary School. The campus is just east of Farmington, west of Peoria, Illinois, and serves a mixed town and rural residential community. Academics Farmington Central High School is currently fully recognized meaning the school made adequate yearly progress and is currently in compliance with state tests and standards. It opened during the 2018–19 school year and is the newest high school in Davis School District. History In the Fall of 2015, a voter approved bond of $298 million was set aside to alleviate crowding at Davis and Viewmont High Schools. Farmington High School (West Virginia)
Farmington is a town in Marion County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 389 at the 2020 census. It is best known for being the site of the 1968 Farmington Mine disaster. The community was named for the fact a large share of the first settlers were farmers. The area was first settled by James Goodin in the late 1700s, by Nicholas Wood and family, and by Jacob Straight and family in the 1770s. A later settler, Joseph Morgan, would build a mill here in 1801. The area would later be incorporated in Marion County as the town of Farmington in 1896, but was earlier known as Willeyvile, Willeytown, and Underwood. While it was officially named Farmington in 1896, when the B and O Railroad ran through the town its stations there went under the name Underwood because of there being many towns of the same name.
