Farman Behboud
Farman Behboud ( fa, فرمان بهبود ; 1946 – March 2010) was an Iranian pianist and piano teacher. He was born in Tehran and studied the piano at the Tehran Conservatory of Music under Emanuel Melik-Aslanian and Ophelia Kombadjian. Behboud gave several recitals and concerts with the NIRT Chamber Orchestra. He was also the pianist of the Persian Ballets Organization in Tehran. Behboud used to teach at the Tehran Conservatory. Since the 1979 Iranian revolution he has preferred to teach private classes. In recent years Behboud has held some recitals for his students in Tehran. Emanuel Melik-Aslanian
Emanuel Melik-Aslanian ( fa, امانوئل ملیک آصلانیان, hy, Էմանուէլ Մելիք- Ասլանեան; 1915 – 14 July 2003) was an Armenian-Iranian composer, classical music theorist and famous pianist. Biography Emanuel Melik-Aslanian was born in 1915 to an Armenian family in Rostov, Russia. Although he was born in Tabriz in most of the mentioned sources. In an interview, he says: "My birthplace is written in my birth certificate, Tabriz, but in fact I was born in 1915 in Rostov. My parents were from Tabriz, but they lived in Rostov at that time." His father Stepan was interested in music and after returning from a trip, he brought a piano with him. When Emanuel was not more than 4 years old, he would sit at the piano with his feet off the ground, playing the piano with one hand. Ophelia () is a character in William Shakespeare's drama ''Hamlet'' (1599–1601). She is a young noblewoman of Denmark, the daughter of Polonius, sister of Laertes and potential wife of Prince Hamlet, who, due to Hamlet's actions, ends up in a state of madness that ultimately leads to her drowning. 1979 Iranian Revolution
The Iranian Revolution ( fa, انقلاب ایران, Enqelâb-e Irân, ), also known as the Islamic Revolution ( fa, انقلاب اسلامی, Enqelâb-e Eslâmī), was a series of events that culminated in the overthrow of the Pahlavi dynasty under Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, and the replacement of his government with an Islamic republic under the rule of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, a leader of one of the factions in the revolt. The revolution was supported by various leftist and Islamist organizations. After the 1953 Iranian coup d'état, Pahlavi had aligned with the United States and the Western Bloc to rule more firmly as an authoritarian monarch. Peyman Yazdanian ( fa, پیمان یزدانیان , born in 1968) is an Iranian pianist and music composer. He has written over forty pieces for solo piano and has composed for both national and foreign feature films. He wrote original soundtracks for plays and multimedia. Early life He was trained by pianist Farman Behboud. He attended the courses of Gerhard Geretschlaeger in Vienna and Ginette Gaubert in Marseille. In conducting, he studied under Iradj Sahbai in Strasbourg. Career As a pianist-interpreter, he won first prize in the competition of excellence at the Musical Confederation of France in 2000. He is recognized for his interpretations of works by Rachmaninov, Liszt, Beethoven, and Chopin. In 1998, he began writing film music for the Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami's ''The Wind Will Carry Us''.
