The Farm Workers Union of Uppland ( sv, Upplands lantarbetareförbund, abbreviated ULF) was a trade union for agricultural workers in Uppland, Sweden. ULF was founded on December 1, 1918. Rimbo
Rimbo () is a locality situated in Norrtälje Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden with 4,629 inhabitants in 2010. Rimbo is located about 20 km west of the municipal seat of Norrtälje. Rimbo grew up as a railhead at the junction between the narrow gauge railways to Uppsala and Norrtälje (1884), Stockholm (1885) and Hallstavik (1896). The last line (to Stockholm, part of Roslagsbanan) was closed in 1981. A formal decision has been taken to reopen the 14 km line to Kårsta (the present northern terminus of Roslagsbanan), but no funds have been allocated. Lidingö, also known in its definite form ''Lidingön'' and as ''Lidingölandet'', is an island in the inner Stockholm archipelago, northeast of Stockholm, Sweden. Gimo, Sweden
Gimo () is a small town situated in Östhammar Municipality, Uppsala County, Sweden with 2,765 inhabitants in 2017. The town is located about 20 km west of the Baltic Sea coast and 50 km north of Uppsala. Gimo is best known for the production plant of Sandvik Coromant with 1,500 employees (2019). History Little is known about the early history of Gimo. A rune stone from the 10th century is located near the reservoir Gimo Damm. The first mention of the place was in the years 1375–1376 when it was described as the village "Gimmu". The church in Gimo is called "Skäfthammar kyrka" and was probably built in the late 15th century. The ironworks of the area has a thousand year long history. No one knows exactly when the ironworks of Gimo was founded, but the first written records are from 1615 when Hans Sifversson built iron works on behalf of the crown. Ivar Lo-Johansson (23 February 1901 – 11 April 1990) was a Swedish writer of the proletarian school. His autobiographical 1979 memoir, ''Pubertet'' (''Puberty''), won the Nordic Council's Literature Prize in 1979. Biography Born Ivar Johansson in Ösmo in a family of agricultural labourers hired per year, he began using the name Ivar Lo-Johansson in his twenties, claiming "Lo" was a family name. Unsuccessfully trying to register the name, he was eventually registered by Swedish authorities as Karl Ivar Loe. In the 1920s, Ivar Lo-Johansson travelled in Europe. His early books were travel books depicting the working-class in France and England. Ivar Lo-Johansson wrote over 50 proletarian novels and short-stories, all of which carried vivid portrayals of working-class people.
