Farid Mukhametshin
Farid Khayrullovich Mukhametshin (also Farit Mokhametshin; tt-Cyrl, Фәрит Хәйрулла улы Мөхәммәтшин; russian: Фарид Хайруллович Мухаметшин; born May 22, 1947, in Almetyevsk, USSR) is a Russian politician and a former Prime Minister of Tatarstan. He is an ethnic Tatar. He was elected in March 1994 to the upper chamber of the Federal Assembly of Russia. He was Chairman of the Supreme Council and State Council of Tatarstan Republic July 1991–January 1995. He is the current Chairman of the State Council of Tatarstan Republic since May 27, 1998. Mintimer Sharipovich Shaimiev ( tt-Cyrl, Минтимер Шәрип улы Шәймиев, translit=Mintimer Şärip ulı Şäymiev; russian: Минтиме́р Шари́пович Шайми́ев; born January 20, 1937) is a Russian former politician who served as the president of Tatarstan from 1991 to 2010. He was re-elected president in 1996, 2001, and 2005. Biography Shaimiev was born in the village of Anyakovo, in Aktanyshsky District of the Tatar ASSR. He graduated from the Kazan Agricultural Institute in 1959, and worked as an agricultural engineer. He joined the Communist Party in 1963. In 1967 he was an instructor and deputy head of the agricultural department at Tatarstan's regional party organization. In 1969 Shaimiev was appointed Minister for Amelioration and Water Economy of his republic and in 1983 he became the first deputy chair of the Tatar Council of Ministers. Mukhammat Sabirov
Mukhammat Sabirov (russian: Мухаммат Галлямович Сабиров; tt-Cyrl, Мөхәммәт Сабиров; March 29, 1932 – March 9, 2015) was a Russian engineer and politician. Sabirov served as the first Prime Minister of Tatarstan from 1991 to 1995. Sabirov began a lengthy career as an engineer at Almetievskburneft in 1955. He served as the first Prime Minister of Tatarstan, the head of government of the republic, from 1991 to 1995. Sabirov died on March 9, 2015, at the age of 82. His memorial service was held at the national culture centre in Kazan, Tatarstan, on March 10, 2015.
