Fares Helou
Fares Al-Helou ( ar, فارس الحلو; born 15 August 1961), also spelled Fares Helou, is a Syrian actor. Since his graduation from the Syrian Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts (Damascus), Higher Institute for Dramatic Arts in 1984, he has appeared in numerous plays, TV and cinema productions, both in Syria and in France. Biography Al-Helou was born into a Christian family in Mashta al-Helu, Syria. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus in 1984, and soon after, he played a role in Mohammad Malas’s second feature film, The Night (1992 film), The Night (1992). Along with the cast of the film, he participated in the 2002 Cannes Film Festival to present the film ''Sacrifices'', directed by Ossama Mohammed. Mashta Al-Helu
Mashta al-Helu ( ar, مشتى الحلو, also known as Meshta al-Helu or Mashta al-Helo) is a town and resort in northwestern Syria, administratively part of the Tartus Governorate, located 35 kilometers east of Tartus. The village is located in a green wooded area amid the An-Nusayriyah Mountains, the Syrian coastal mountain range. Nearby localities include Kafrun to the west, al-Malloua and al-Bariqiyah to the southwest, Habnamrah and Marmarita to the south, Hadiya to the southeast, Kafr Ram to the east, Ayn Halaqim to the northeast, Ayn al-Shams to the north and Duraykish to the northwest. Mohammad Malas
Mohammad Malas ( ar, محمد ملص; born 1945) is a prominent Syrian filmmaker. Malas directed several documentary and feature films that garnered international recognition. He is among the first Auteur theory, auteur filmmakers in Cinema of Syria, Syrian cinema.Ginsberg; Lippard, 2010, p. 264. Early life Malas was born in Quneitra on the Golan Heights. He worked as a school teacher between 1965 and 1968 before moving to Moscow to study filmmaking at the Russian State Institute of Cinematography, Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK).
