Fancy Bazaar
Fancy Bazaar is a locality in Guwahati, surrounded by localities of Pan Bazaar, Lakhtokia with nearest airport at Borjhar and Railway Station at Paltan Bazaar. It is known as the business hub of Northeast region. It derives its name from the Jail and gallows for hanging (''phansi'') that was situated in this area—the municipal records still calls it ''Phansi bazaar''. Guwahati (, ; formerly rendered Gauhati, ) is the biggest city of the Indian state of Assam and also the largest metropolis in northeastern India. Dispur, the capital of Assam, is in the circuit city region located within Guwahati and is the seat of the Government of Assam. Pan Bazaar
Pan Bazaar (also spelled as Panbazar) (অসমীয়া: পানবজাৰ) is a locality in Guwahati, India surrounded by localities of Paltan Bazaar, Ambari and Fancy Bazaar. Situated on the banks of the river Brahmaputra, it is part of the city centre. Pan Bazaar means "betel-leaf mart" in English. The locality is known for its various administrative, cultural and religious buildings. It is also known for being a shopping district. The District Court ( Kamrup) and the Guwahati branch of the Reserve Bank of India are major administrative buildings located in Pan Nazaar. Restaurants and bookshops in the area provide a unique environment. It is also a major wholesale market for drugs and pharmaceutical products and a hub for printing and publication. Guwahati railway station (Station code: GHY) is located in the heart of the city of Guwahati, Assam. It is the first fully solar-operated railway station in India. It has been rated as A1-category station. Just behind the Guwahati Railway Station is the Assam State Transport Corporation Bus Terminal. Ghoramara
Ghoramara Island is an island 92 km south of Kolkata, India in the Sundarban Delta complex of the Bay of Bengal. The island is small, roughly five square kilometers in area, and is quickly disappearing due to erosion and sea level rise. Shrinking of island Global warming has caused the rivers that pour down from the Himalayas and empty into the Bay of Bengal to swell and shift in recent decades, placing these islands, known as the Sundarbans, in danger. Four islands are completely underwater, and another 10 in the area are at risk. A 2007 study by Jadavpur University concluded that roughly of the Sundarbans had disappeared during the preceding 30 years, and that Ghoramara had shrunk to less than , about half its size in 1969: this loss of land had caused the displacement of more than 600 families.
