Fan Lichu
Fan Lichu (; 8 June 1933 – 3 May 2016) was a Chinese structural engineer, bridge specialist, and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE). Biography Fan was born in Shanghai on 8 June 1933. He obtained a bachelor's degree of bridge and tunnel engineering from Tongji University in 1955. He became a teaching assistant in Tongji University after his graduation. Working under Li Guohao, Fan's research was mainly in the field of bridge structural engineer. He provided aseismic design and analysis for bridges such as Nanpu Bridge, Yangpu Bridge, Donghai Bridge, Sutong Yangtze River Bridge, Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge, viaduct and overpass in Shanghai. Yangpu Bridge
The Yangpu Bridge () is a sister bridge to the Nanpu Bridge, both crossing the Huangpu River in Shanghai, China. Yangpu is among the world's longest bridges, with a total length of 8354 meters. Its longest span of 602 m makes it one of the longest cable-stayed bridges in the world. It carries the Inner Ring Road from the Yangpu District in Puxi to the Pudong New Area. It was completed in September 1993 and opened in October. It is the last vehicular bridge over the Huangpu River before the river empties into the sea. Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge
The Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge () is a suspension bridge over the Yangtze River in Jiangsu, China. The bridge has a main span of connects Jiangyin south of the river to Jingjiang to the north. When the bridge was completed in 1999, it was the fourth longest suspension bridge span in the world and the longest in China. Several longer bridges have since been completed in China and abroad, and it is currently the 15th longest suspension bridge in the world. The bridge was also the furthest downstream on the Yangtze until the completion of the Sutong Yangtze River Bridge in 2008 and the Chongming–Qidong Yangtze River Bridge in 2011. Sutong Yangtze River Bridge
The Sutong Yangtze Bridge (; , ) is a cable-stayed bridge that spans the Yangtze in China between Nantong and Changshu, a satellite city of Suzhou, in Jiangsu province. Design and construction The Sutong Yangtze River Bridge was designed by Dr. Robin Sham, CBE, FICE, a Hong Kong-born and British-based structural engineer who specializes in bridges. With a span of , it was the cable-stayed bridge with the longest main span in the world from 2008 to 2012. Its two side spans are each, and there are also four small cable spans. Donghai Bridge (Chinese: t , s , p ''Dōnghǎi Dàqiáo'', Wu ''Tonhe Dujiau'' "East China Sea Bridge") is a Chinese bridge counted among the longest cross-sea bridges in the world. It was completed on December 10, 2005. It has a total length of and connects mainland Shanghai's Pudong New Area with the offshore Yangshan Deep-Water Port in Zhejiang's Shengsi County. Li Guohao (engineer)
Li Guohao (; born 13 Apr 1913 in Mei County, Guangdong; died 23 Feb 2005 in Shanghai) was a Chinese structural engineer and bridge engineering expert, known as ''Suspension Bridge Li''. His method of calculation, with a high degree of precision although of extreme complexity, can cut down the cost of engineering and promote bridge stability.
