''False Trail'' ( sv, Jägarna 2, "The Hunters 2"), is a Swedish thriller film which was released to cinemas in Sweden on 2 September 2011, directed by Kjell Sundvall with Rolf Lassgård and Peter Stormare in the main roles. The film is the sequel to the 1996 film '' The Hunters'', it sneak-premiered on 17 August 2011 in Överkalix and in Norrland on 2 September 2011 and had its main all over Sweden premiere on 9 September 2011. Unlike the first film, where the title pointed to the villainous hunters, the title of the sequel hints towards the feud between Erik and Torsten, both with their own predatory nature. Premise 15 years after the events of the first film, Erik (Rolf Lassgård) is forced to return to the Norrland village he had left following the events of the first film, after a brutal crime is committed. Rolf Lassgård
Rolf Holger Lassgård (born 29 March 1955) is a Swedish actor. He is known for his many roles in crime dramas. Life and career Lassgård was born in Östersund, Jämtland. A keen amateur ice hockey player in his youth, he also joined theatre teacher Ingemar Lind's Institute for the Performing Arts in the village of Storhögen outside Östersund. He then attended the Stage School in Malmö from 1975–78. There Lassgård met the director Peter Oskarson and joined his ''Skånska Teatern'' theatre company at Landskrona, where he remained for four years, making his first television appearance as " Puck" in its production of ''A Midsummer Night's Dream'' in 1980. ''The Hunters'' ( sv, Jägarna) is a Swedish thriller film directed by Kjell Sundvall, which was released to cinemas in Sweden on 31 January 1996. A police officer from Stockholm moves back to his hometown Älvsbyn in Norrland, in northern Sweden. He starts to work on a long-running reindeer poaching case and soon discovers that his brother is involved. The film was one of the biggest Swedish box-office hits ever, grossing over $6 million, and received two Guldbagge Awards for Best Direction (Kjell Sundvall) and Best Supporting Actor (Lennart Jähkel). It was also nominated for Best Actor (Rolf Lassgård), Best Cinematography and Best Screenplay. Överkalix (; fi, Ylikainuu) is a locality and the seat of Överkalix Municipality in Norrbotten County, Sweden with 975 inhabitants in 2010. Kalix ( sv, Kalix; Kalix dialect: ''Kôlis'', , phonemically ; fi, Kainuu; fit, Kainus) is a locality and the seat of the Kalix Municipality in Norrbotten County, Sweden.
