Fallston is a census-designated place (CDP) in Harford County, Maryland, Harford County, Maryland, United States. The population was 8,958 at the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census, up from 8,427 in 2000. Fallston is a semi-rural community consisting mostly of farms and suburban-like developments. Geography Fallston is located in western Harford County at (39.532006, −76.438021). It is bordered to the south by Baltimore County, Maryland, Baltimore County and to the northeast by the Bel Air North, Maryland, Bel Air North CDP. The Little Gunpowder Falls river forms the southern border of the Fallston CDP and the county line, while Winters Run forms the border with Bel Air North. The river begins north of the community of Fallston at the confluence of the West and East Branches, and flows southeast about to Atkisson Dam in Bel Air. Rockdale, also known as The Robinson/Stirling Place, is a historic home and farm complex located at Fallston, Harford County, Maryland, United States. It is a farm developed from the late 18th century through the early 20th century. The dwelling is in three parts. The east room of the east wing is the earliest section dating from the 18th century. The largest or main portion of the dwelling dates from between 1815 and 1830. The north wing, a bay centered in the south façade of the second story, and a small conservatory, date from the very early 20th century. The main house is five bays in length, two and a half stories, of stone construction, stuccoed and scored. The home is surrounded by several outbuildings, trees, and other plantings, and the remains of formal gardens and garden structures developed in the early 20th century. Little Falls Meetinghouse
The Little Falls Meetinghouse is a historic Friends meeting house located at Fallston, Harford County, Maryland, United States. It was constructed in 1843 and is a sprawling one-story fieldstone structure with shallow-pitched gable roof and a shed-roofed porch. The building replaced an earlier meetinghouse built in 1773. Also on the property is a cemetery and a one-story frame mid-19th century school building, with additions made post-1898 and in 1975. It features the characteristic two entrance doors and a sliding partition dividing the interior into the men's and women's sides. The Friends currently meet on the former men's side of the meetinghouse, and the women's side is only used for large groups and special occasions. The Little Falls Meetinghouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Bon Air is a historic home located at Fallston, Harford County, Maryland. It is a three-story dwelling of stone, stuccoed and scored in imitation of ashlar, with a steep hipped roof featuring a pronounced splay or "kick" at the eaves. It was built in 1794 by Francois de la Porte, who brought his own joiners, blacksmiths, masons, and artisans with him to recreate an exact replica of a rural seat in Northern France. It is one of the few structures in Harford County with a distinct French heritage. Maryland Route 165
Maryland Route 165 (MD 165) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. The state highway runs from Baldwin north to the Pennsylvania state line in Cardiff, where the highway continues as Pennsylvania Route 74 (PA 74). MD 165 passes through western and northern Harford County, where it connects the communities of Fallston, Jarrettsville, Pylesville, and Whiteford. Jarrettsville, Maryland
Jarrettsville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Harford County, Maryland, United States. The population was 2,888 at the 2020 census. History The town was named for the Jarrett family, who farmed the area during the 1800s and were one of the first pioneer families of the United States. In 1771, Abraham Jarrett was granted 2380 Acres of land near the falling branch area to which was used for the production of hogshead barrels mainly used for the transportation of tobacco. In the same year Abraham Jarrett purchased other areas in and around the Jarrettsville area. Abraham Jarrett married Martha Bussey and had 7 children.
