''Failed States'' is the sixth full-length album by the punk rock band Propagandhi. It was released on September 4, 2012, receiving critical praise. A remastered version was released through multiple digital streaming services on February 1, 2019 as Chris Hannah felt that the original version sounded inferior to the quality of '' Supporting Caste'' and ''Victory Lap''. Propagandhi
Propagandhi is a Canadian punk rock band formed in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba in 1986 by guitarist Chris Hannah and drummer Jord Samolesky. The band is currently located in Winnipeg, Manitoba and completed by bassist Todd Kowalski and guitarist Sulynn Hago. While their earlier work was aligned with the punk rock and skate punk tradition, in later years Propagandhi records have moved towards a heavier and more technical heavy metal-influenced sound. Both in their lyrics and hands-on activism, the band's members champion various left wing and anarchist causes and veganism, and have taken a vocal stance against human rights violations, sexism, racism, nationalism, homophobia, imperialism, capitalism and organized religion. Todd Kowalski
Todd "The Rod" Kowalski (born May 27, 1973) is a Canadian bassist and singer, currently a member of hardcore punk band Propagandhi. Along with his band, he lives a vegan lifestyle and supports animal rights. Career In the early 1990s, Kowalski was the frontman of I Spy, a hardcore punk band from Regina, originally called Klump. He and the band moved to Winnipeg in 1994. They recorded a split CD/10" with Propagandhi. I Spy played together until the summer of 1996, when they decided to call it quits. In 1996 Kowalski joined a band called Swallowing Shit who released a 7" record and an Anthology Cd. Kowalski joined Propagandhi in 1997 and also played bass for J Church on their 1997 Japanese tour. In 1998, G7 Welcoming Committee Records released an I Spy anthology album called ''Perversity is Spreading... It's About Time''. Mastering, a form of audio post production, is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device (the master), the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication or replication). In recent years digital masters have become usual, although analog masters—such as audio tapes—are still being used by the manufacturing industry, particularly by a few engineers who specialize in analog mastering. Space Shuttle ''Challenger'' (OV-099) was a Space Shuttle orbiter manufactured by Rockwell International and operated by NASA. Named after the commanding ship of a nineteenth-century scientific expedition that traveled the world, ''Challenger'' was the second Space Shuttle orbiter to fly into space after '' Columbia'', and launched on its maiden flight in April 1983. David Guillas
David "Space Beaver" Guillas (born February 27, 1979) is a Canadian guitarist, formerly of Giant Sons Rough Music, and hardcore punk band Propagandhi. He left Propagandhi to pursue a career as a teacher. Career In early April 2002, Guillas played guitar for Giant Sons, a roots rock turned instrumental band in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The band broke up in August 2003, and ex-members of Giant Sons and Standstill formed a new band called Rough Music in February or March 2004. In August 2006 he became a member of Winnipeg hardcore punk outfit Propagandhi, who are still active on the Winnipeg music scene. Guillas left Propagandhi in 2015 in favor of his teaching career, however it was originally intended that he would still perform on studio recordings. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses.
