Fabian Von Fersen (1762–1818)
Count Fabian Reinhold von Fersen (7 October 1762, Stockholm – 10 March 1818, Stockholm) was a Swedish count, politician, officer and courtier. He was the son of Axel von Fersen the Elder and Hedvig Catharina De la Gardie and the brother of Count Axel von Fersen the Younger, Hedvig Eleonora von Fersen and Sophie Piper. Life Fabian von Fersen served in the Royal Life Guards from 1771 and 1796 and climbed through the ranks from an ensign to a colonel lieutenant. In 1793–1802, he was a ''Valet de chambre'' and in 1802–10 a Chamberlain (office) at the royal court. He served as a member of the nobility in the ''riksdag'' several times between 1789 and 1818. In 1796, he belonged to the entourage accompanying Gustav IV Adolf on the king's marriage trip to Russia. Before the deposition of Gustav IV Adolf during the Coup of 1809, he prevented the monarch from the withdrawal of funds from the national bank. Louise Von Fersen
Lovisa Sofia "''Louise'' Sophie" von Fersen, née Piper (26 October 1777 – 4 January 1849), was a Swedish countess and courtier. Louise von Fersen was the daughter of court chamberlain Sten Abraham Piper and Catharina Ehrensvärd, who had been ''hovfröken'' (maid of honour) prior to her marriage. She served as maid of honour to princess Sophia Albertina of Sweden in 1794-97. She married the courtier count Fabian Reinhold von Fersen in 1797. By marriage, she became the sister-in-law to the famous Axel von Fersen the Younger as well as Sophie Piper, who was married to her brother Carl Piper. The De la Gardie family (also de la Gardie) is the name of a distinguished Swedish nobility, Swedish noble family of France, French origin. History The family's social status in France is uncertain; the founder, Ponce d'Escouperie, son of a tradesman, came to Sweden as a mercenary in 1565 and took the name Pontus De la Gardie when registered by the House of Nobility (Sweden), House of Knights. He was given the title friherre in 1571 and married Sofia Johansdotter Gyllenhielm, an illegitimate daughter of king John III of Sweden, John III in 1580.
