F.T. Island ( ko, 에프티 아일랜드, or FT아일랜드, short for Five Treasure Island), is a South Korean rock band formed by FNC Entertainment in 2007. The band currently consists of main vocalist Lee Hong-gi, bassist Lee Jae-jin, and drummer Choi Min-hwan. Guitarist Oh Won-bin left the band in 2009 and was replaced by Song Seung-hyun. Former leader Choi Jong-hoon left the band and retired from the entertainment industry on March 14, 2019, while Seung-hyun left the group on December 31, 2019, to pursue his acting career. F.T. Island debuted on the music television program M! Countdown on June 7, 2007, with the single "Love Sick". Their debut studio album, '' Cheerful Sensibility'', was the sixth best-selling of the year and "Love Sick" topped the K-pop charts for eight consecutive weeks. Lee Hong-gi (; born March 2, 1990), also known mononymously as Hongki, is a South Korean singer, actor, and media personality. He is best known as the front man of rock band F.T. Island. In 2015, Lee debuted as a solo artist with the releases of his first Korean extended play '' FM302'' and his first Japanese album, '' AM302''. As an actor, Lee started his career by starring in children drama ''Magic Kid Masuri'' (2002). Lee Jae-jin (; Japanese:イ•ジェジン born December 17, 1991) is a South Korean musician and actor. He is a member of rock band F.T. Island, where he serves as the bassist and 2nd vocalist. He has also contributed to F.T. Island's body of work with several compositions of his own. Music career F.T. Island F.T. Song Seung-hyun (; Japanese:ソン•スンヒョン born 21 August 1992) is a South Korean actor and musician. He is best known as a former member of the rock band F.T. Island, where he replaced previous guitarist Oh Won Bin and served as guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. Choi Min-hwan (; Japanese:チェ•ミンファン; born 11 November 1992), also known by his mononym Minhwan, is a South Korean singer, musician, drummer and actor. He is a member of rock band F.T. ''Cheerful Sensibility'' is the first studio album by South Korean band F.T. Island, released on 5 June 2007. The album contains 13 songs divided into two sections: "Emotional Chapter" consists of Rock music, rock ballads, while "F.T. Island Chapter" is made up of pop-rock songs written by Japanese composers. The album sold 79,000 copies and became the sixth most sold album of the year in South Korea. It was re-released on 3 December by the title ''The Refreshment'', with three new songs. The package included a Music 2.0 program, which enabled changes to the levels of vocals and instruments. Choi Jong-hoon
Choi Jong-hoon (, ; born March 7, 1990) is a South Korean former musician and actor. He served as the leader, guitarist, and keyboardist of rock band F.T. Island from its debut in 2007 until his retirement from the entertainment industry in 2019. On March 14, 2019, Choi retired from the entertainment industry, amidst allegations of being involved in bribery and sharing of illicit sex videos and pictures, a part of the Jung Joon-young KakaoTalk chatrooms, first revealed in the Burning Sun scandal.
