FK Rapid Bratislava
FK Rapid Bratislava was a Slovak association football club. The club was based in a quiet part of Ružinov, Bratislava. Founded was in 1931 as ŠK Prievoz. Although not very successful in the recent years, it was a club with decent history. Its greatest success were two seasons (2003/2004 and 2004/2005) spent in the Slovak Second Division. Ružinov (, hu, Főrév, german: Rosenheim) is a borough of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, located in the Bratislava II district. Slovak Second Division
The 2. Liga is the second-level football league in Slovakia. Currently, there are sixteen teams in one group of the competition. For two seasons, it was also known as DOXXbet liga for sponsorship reasons. History The league was formed as a second-tier league in Czechoslovakia. Before the dissolution of Czechoslovakia it consisted of 16 teams. Upon dissolution, six teams were promoted to the then newly formed Corgoň Liga. The league was expanded to 18 teams in 1996–97 season, but back to 16 in 2001–02 and 12 in 2006–07. FC Petržalka
FC Petržalka is a Slovak football club based in Bratislava. The club was founded in 1898 and it promoted twice to the top flight 1. liga in the Czechoslovakia during 1980's (for 1981–82 season and 1984–85 season) and spent another 14 consecutive seasons in the Slovak first league from 1996–97 to 2009–10. The biggest international success of Petržalka was participation in the group stage of the 2005–06 UEFA Champions League and Round of 32 of the 2005–06 UEFA Cup. Several years later, after losing its owner a different company took over the piece of land under the club's old home ground Štadión Petržalka for commercial building-up and the stadium was demolished.
