Polish National Basketball Team
The Poland men's national basketball team () represents Poland in international basketball competitions. They are controlled by the Polish Basketball Federation (PZKosz). Poland has competed at the EuroBasket on 28 occasions, with their best performance at the tournament coming in 1963, as hosts, finishing as runners-up. Poland has competed six times at the Olympic Games, with their best finish being fourth place at the first edition of the event in 1936. Edward Jurkiewicz
Edward Jurkiewicz (born 22 January 1948 in Pruszcz Gdański, Poland) is a Polish former professional basketball player and coach. During his playing career, he was a 1.95 m tall (6' 4") tall small forward. Jurkiewicz is considered to be one of the greatest scorers in European basketball history. Jurkiewicz, who was the Polish Premier League's Top Scorer eight times, and was named to the FIBA European Selection Team in 1971; is the all-time leading scorer in the entire history of the Polish Premier League, from 1947 to the present day. Jurkiewicz is also the all-time leading scorer in the history of the senior Polish national team. While representing Poland, he was twice named to the FIBA EuroBasket's All-Tournament team, in the 1969 edition and the 1971 edition of the tournament. Ivo Daneu
Ivo Daneu (born 6 October 1937) is a retired Slovenian professional basketball player and basketball coach, coach. During his playing career, at a height of tall, he played at the point guard and shooting guard positions. He represented the Yugoslavia national basketball team internationally. He was voted the Golden Badge, Best Sportsperson of the Year in Yugoslavia, in 1967, and the Slovenian Sportsperson of the Year, in 1969. He was named one of FIBA's 50 Greatest Players (1991), FIBA's 50 Greatest Players in 1991. He was enshrined into the FIBA Hall of Famer, FIBA Hall of Fame, in 2007. Jiří Zedníček (born February 14, 1945) is a former Czech professional basketball player. He was voted to the Czechoslovak 20th Century Team. Club career In his club career, Zedníček won the European-wide secondary level FIBA Cup Winner's Cup (later called FIBA Saporta Cup) championship, in the 1968–69 season. He was a member of the FIBA European Selection Team in 1966, 1967, 1969, 1971, and 1972. National team career Zedníček represented the senior Czechoslovak national team at several EuroBaskets, and at the 1972 Summer Olympic Games. At the EuroBasket 1967, he was named the MVP of the tournament.
