The FIBA Asia Under-20 Championship for Women refers to the women's under-20 championship for basketball in the International Basketball Federation's FIBA Asia zone. It was also formerly known as the Asian Basketball Confederation Championship for Young Women. The winners compete in the FIBA Under-21 World Championship for Women. FIBA no longer hold world championships for this age group. Basketball
Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. A field goal is worth two points, unless made from behind the three-point line, when it is worth three.
