Oulun Työväen Palloilijat, (OTP for short), is a football club from Oulu, Finland. OTP has played 16 seasons in the Finnish premier divisions Mestaruussarja and Veikkausliiga. After that there was a short lived merger with OLS called FC Oulu in the early 1990s. OTP was re-established in 1995 as FC Oulu defunct. Oulun Luistinseura (or OLS) is a Finnish multi-sports club, based in Oulu. The club has football, bandy, bowling and floorball sections. Football OLS football team was founded in 1941 by clubs bandy players. Throughout the years the club has played mostly in lower divisions, never competing in the highest tier of Finnish football except as a part of short lived merger with OTP called FC Oulu in the early 1990s. The most successful part of OLS is the youth academy which has produced many national team level players. Men's football team earned promotion to Kakkonen (the third tier of Finnish football) for 2014 season. Veikkausliiga (; sv, Tipsligan) is the premier division of Finnish football, the highest tier of the Finnish football league structure, comprising the top 12 clubs of the country. Its main sponsor is the Finnish national betting agency Veikkaus, hence the league's name. Veikkausliiga was founded in 1990; before that the top division was called ''Mestaruussarja'' (championship series) since 1930 which was an amateur or semi-professional league.
