FC Ostrava-Jih, formerly known as FC NH Ostrava, is a Czech football club from the city of Ostrava. The team played in the Czech 2. Liga for two seasons. The club played in the Moravian–Silesian Football League during the 1990s, winning the league in the 1997–98 season and being promoted to the Czech 2. Liga. After recording the club's best-ever league finishing position of fifth in the 1999–2000 Czech 2. Liga, the club's main sponsor, Nová Huť, discontinued its funding and the club moved to the town of Nový Jičín. Ostrava (; pl, Ostrawa; german: Ostrau ) is a city in the north-east of the Czech Republic, and the capital of the Moravian-Silesian Region. It has about 280,000 inhabitants. Moravian–Silesian Football League
The Moravian-Silesian Football League (MSFL) ( cs, Moravskoslezská fotbalová liga) is one of the third level football leagues in the Czech Republic (the other is the Bohemian Football League) headquartered in Olomouc. The league comprises teams from the historic regions of Moravia and Silesia and partially also Bohemia. The league was formed in 1991 during the Czechoslovakia era, replacing the former ''II.ČNL'' (II. Česká národni liga; Second Czech National League) at the third tier of Czechoslovak football alongside sister league ČFL. The winner of MSFL is promoted to the Czech National Football League. Three clubs are promoted to the MSFL - the winners of Divize D, E and F of the Czech Fourth Division. Nový Jičín
Nový Jičín (; german: Neutitschein) is a town in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 23,000 inhabitants. The historic centre of Nový Jičín is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument reservation. Nový Jičín is known for the hatting industry and is nicknamed the "town of hats".
