FC Goa Reserves and Academy is the reserve side and youth academy system of Indian Super League side FC Goa. Based in Goa, the reserve side participated in the I-League 2nd Division, the second division of Indian football, and currently in Goa Professional League. The youth teams, which are under 18, under 15 and under 13 squads, participate in various divisions of Elite League. History On 20 February 2018, it was announced by the All India Football Federation, the organizing body for Indian football, that the FC Goa, along with six other Indian Super League sides, would field a reserve team in the I-League 2nd Division, India's second division football league. In November 2020, FC Goa tied up with German football club RB Leipzig, to focus on youth development and coach training on a three-year strategic partnership. Football Club Goa is an Indian professional football club based in Goa, that competes in the Indian Super League, the top flight of Indian football. The club was established on 26 August 2014. Nicknamed as '' Gaurs'', the club plays their home matches at the Fatorda Stadium in Margao. Brazilian coach Zico was the first manager of the club. Its marquee players for its first two seasons have been French winger Robert Pires and Brazilian defender Lúcio respectively. The team finished the league stage in the second position in their first season. In the end-of-season play-offs, they lost via a penalty shootout against Atlético de Kolkata in the semi-finals after a goalless draw. The I-League (known as Hero I-League for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp) is the second-tier men's professional football competition of the Indian football league system. It is currently contested by 12 clubs across the country with the winners getting promotion to play in the premier division, the Indian Super League. The competition was founded in 2007 as the successor to the National Football League, with the first season starting in November 2007. 2020–21 Goa Professional League
The 2020–21 Goa Professional League was the 23rd season of the Goa Professional League, the top football league in the Indian state of Goa, since its establishment in 1996. The league season commenced on 27 January 2021. Selvel Advertising Pvt Ltd is the title sponsor of Goa Professional League 2020-21 season. The Kolkata based media firm has signed a five-year deal with the state association for the sponsorship. This season, the GPL was played with 12 teams in a single leg, which will have 66 matches and all of them will broadcast on an OTT app and will also have Square Circle as digital partners. Krishna Pandit
Krishna Pandit (born 29 August 1998) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a forward for FC Goa B in the Goa Professional League. Career Pandit was born in Chandigarh, he took his schooling at St. John's High School, Chandigarh, and first went to learn football at the age of 8. Pandit played his first match in under-12 team as a midfielder. Pandit represented his state in national level competitions before being selected to join the AIFF Regional Academy in 2012. Before joining the academy, Pandit was coached by former India international Sanjeev Maria. He was considered very highly rated among most involved with Indian football after he scored eight goals in only five matches during the AFC U14 Festival.
