FC Ararat-Armenia ( hy, Ֆուտբոլային Ակումբ Արարատ-Արմենիա), is an Armenian football club based in Yerevan, founded in 2017. History It was founded in 2017 as FC Avan Academy by Ruben Hayrapetyan, on the basis of the young players of the Yerevan Football Academy graduates, as well as many young players from FC Pyunik. They club's inaugural match took place in July 2017 against Erebuni SC. The friendly match ended up with a score of 3–1 in favour of Avan Academy. At the beginning of 2018, the club was taken over by the Russian-Armenian businessman Samvel Karapetyan who renamed the football club as Ararat-Moskva, from Mount Ararat. The club was reorganized as soon as FC Ararat Moscow in Russia was denied certificate for the next season. Artak Oseyan managed the club during the 2017–18 Armenian First League season. The Yerevan Football Academy Stadium, officially the FFA Technical Center-Academy Stadium ( hy, ՀՖՖ Տեխնիկական-կենտրոն ակադեմիայի մարզադաշտ), commonly known as the Yerevan Football Academy Stadium or the Avan Academy Stadium, is an all-seater football stadium in Yerevan, Armenia. It is located in the northern Avan District of the city, within the Technical Center-Academy complex of the Football Federation of Armenia. The 2018–19 Armenian Premier League season was the 27th since its establishment. The season began on 4 August 2018 and ended on 30 May 2019. The 2018–19 Armenian Cup was the 28th edition of the football knockout competition in Armenia. This season's cup winners earned a place in the 2019–20 Europa League. The tournament began on 19 September 2018 and ended on 7 May 2019. Gandzasar Kapan were the defending champions after defeating Alashkert on penalties in the previous season's final. Armen Hovhannisyan ( hy, Արմեն Հովհաննիսյան; born 7 March 2000) is an Armenian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Pietà Hotspurs F.C. on loan from Greek Super League 2 club Episkopi. In its original form as the Armenian Cup, it started in 1939, when Armenia was a republic of the Soviet Union. Dmitri Ivanovich Gunko (russian: Дмитрий Иванович Гунько; born 1 March 1976) is a Russian professional football coach and a former player. He is the manager of Armenian club Urartu. Coaching career He served as caretaker manager of FC Spartak Moscow to finish out the 2013–14 season after Valeri Karpin resigned on 18 March 2014.
