Eyvind W. Wang
Eyvind W. Wang (born 8 December 1942) is a Norwegian politician for the Conservative Party. Wang is from Blommenholm in Bærum and started his career as a car mechanic. He became a workshop manager at Skotvedt and later served on its board of directors. He was also a chairman of Vestfjorden Avløpsselskap. Wang was first elected to Asker municipal council in 1975 and served as mayor of Asker municipality from 1980 to 1995. In 1979 he defeated fellow party member Jens Wisløff for reelection. He was succeeded by Morten Strand from the same party. Akershus
Akershus () is a traditional region and current electoral district in Norway, with Oslo as its main city and traditional capital. It is named after the Akershus Fortress in Oslo. From the middle ages to 1919, Akershus was a fief and main county that included most of Eastern Norway, and from the 17th century until 2020, Akershus also had a more narrow meaning as a (sub) county that included most of the Greater Oslo Region. Jon Fossum
Jon Fossum (23 February 1923 – 10 July 2007) was a Norwegian orienteer and politician for the Conservative Party. He was born at Hvalstad. In his younger days he was an active sportsman, representing Asker SK. In addition to ski jumping and cross-country skiing, he competed in orienteering. In the latter sport he won five national championships; three of which in relay races with his two brothers. Fossum was first elected to Asker municipal council in 1963, and was mayor of Asker municipality from 1968 to 1980. He was also a five-term member of Akershus county council. The Storting ( no, Stortinget ) (lit. the Great Thing) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. Morten Strand
Morten Strand (born 23 September 1947) is a Norwegian footballer and politician for the Conservative Party. He hails from Bekkestua in Bærum, but now resides in Vollen. In his younger days he was a football goalkeeper for Stabæk, from 1965 to 1974, and Strømsgodset from 1975 to 1976. He has later been involved in the local football club Vollen UL. In his professional career he was a CEO of the paper company Basberg Papir. He was a deputy leader of the Norwegian Wholesale Paper Merchants Association and a board member of the Federation of Norwegian Commercial and Service Enterprises for many years. Jens Juell Wisløff (9 May 1921 – 4 August 1998) was a Norwegian businessman in the asphalt industry and a politician for the Conservative Party. Political career He was born in Sarpsborg, and resided at Nesbru in his later life. He was a member of the executive committee of Asker municipal council from 1968 to 1975, and chaired the municipal party chapter from 1971 to 1973. Ahead of the 1979 election he tried to be nominated as the Conservative Party mayor candidate, but lost out to Eyvind W. Wang.
