Expressway S11 (Poland)
Expressway S11 or express road S11 (in Polish ''droga ekspresowa S11'') is a major road in Poland which has been planned to run from Kołobrzeg on the Baltic coast through Koszalin, Piła and Poznań to Pyrzowice (north of Katowice), a distance of about 550 km, largely following the route of existing National road 11 (DK11). A few short sections of the expressway exist or are under construction, but the bulk of it should be built only after 2020 as it has a lower priority than other express roads and motorways currently planned, with the precise construction timeline highly dependent on government funding decisions. As of November 2017, 40.3 km (25 mi) of road was built out of the total planned length of 600 km (373 mi). Kołobrzeg
Kołobrzeg ( ; csb, Kòlbrzég; german: Kolberg, ), ; csb, Kòlbrzég , is a port city in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in north-western Poland with about 47,000 inhabitants (). Kołobrzeg is located on the Parsęta River on the south coast of the Baltic Sea (in the middle of the section divided by the Oder and Vistula Rivers). It is the capital of Kołobrzeg County. A1 Autostrada (Poland)
The autostrada A1, officially named Amber Highway ( pl, Autostrada Bursztynowa) in Poland is a north–south motorway, partly under construction, that runs through central Poland, from Gdańsk (on the Baltic Sea) through Łódź and the Upper Silesian Industry Area (to the west of Katowice) to the Polish-Czech border in Gorzyczki/ Věřňovice, where it is connected with the Czech motorway D1. Olesno
Olesno is a town in Opole Voivodship, Poland about north-east of the city of Opole. It is the capital of Olesno County and seat of the Gmina Olesno. History The area near the ancient Amber Road had been settled since the Neolithic era. Olesno was first mentioned in a 1226 deed by Bishop Wawrzyniec of Wrocław though it may refer to the neighbouring village of ''Stare Olesno'' (Old Olesno). It was part of the duchies of Opole, Silesia and again Opole of fragmented Piast-ruled Poland. In 1229 it was acquired by Duke Henry I the Bearded of Wrocław. Olesno became seat of a castellan and received town rights in 1275 from Duke Władysław Opolski. A mint was also located in the town. Baltic Sea
The Baltic Sea is an arm of the Atlantic Ocean that is enclosed by Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Sweden and the North and Central European Plain. Expressway S1 (Poland)
Expressway S1 or express road S1 is an expressway under construction in Poland with a planned length of , which is located in the Silesian and Lesser Poland voivodeships. Upon completion, it will connect the A1 motorway near the Katowice International Airport in Pyrzowice, with the A4 motorway and the border of Slovakia in Zwardoń, where it will connect to the D3 Motorway. A major part of the route is the Eastern beltway of Upper Silesian Industrial Region. The route is expected to be completed by 2024. Pyrzowice is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Ożarowice, within Tarnowskie Góry County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately east of Ożarowice, east of Tarnowskie Góry, and north of the regional capital Katowice.
