European Amateur Team Championship
The European Amateur Team Championship is a European amateur team golf championship for men organised by the European Golf Association which was introduced in 1959. The championship was played in odd-numbered years from 1959 to 2007 and has been played annually since 2008 (with the exception of 2012). Format 1959–1965 Each team consisted of a minimum of six players, playing two rounds of stroke play, counting the four best scores for each team. The four best teams formed flight A, were the winner was determined by a round-robin system. All teams in the flight met each other and the team with most points for team matches won the tournament, using the scale, won 2 points, halved 1 point, lost 0 points. 1967–1975 Each team played one round of stroke play, counted the five best scores for each team. 2015 European Amateur Team Championship
The 2015 European Amateur Team Championship took place 7–11 July at Halmstad Golf Club, in Tylösand, Sweden. It was the 32nd men's golf European Amateur Team Championship. Venue The tournament was played at the Halmstad Golf Club's North course in Tylösand, Halmstad Municipality, 9 kilometers west of Halmstad city center in Halland County, Sweden. The club was founded in 1930. Its first 18-hole course was constructed by Rafael Sundblom and approved in 1938. Another nine holes, constructed by Nils Sköld, was inaugurated in 1967. Together with the last nine holes of the old course, this formed the new course, called the North Course. The club had previously hosted the 1985 European Amateur Team Championship and the 2007 Solheim Cup. The championship course was set up with par 72. The 2007 European Amateur Team Championship took place 3–7 July at Western Gailes Golf Club in Irvine, Scotland, United Kingdom. It was the 25th men's golf European Amateur Team Championship. Venue The club was founded in 1897. Its 18 hole links course on the Ayrshire coast in Irvine, North Ayrshire, 50 kilometres south west of the city center of Glasgow, was ready in 1899 and remained largely unmodified from its original layout. It is situated closely north of Royal Troon Golf Club and Prestwick Golf Club. 2022 European Amateur Team Championship
The 2022 European Amateur Team Championship took place 5–9 July at Royal St George's Golf Club in Sandwich, Kent, England. It was the 39th men's golf European Amateur Team Championship. Team Spain won the championship. Defending champion from the 2021 European Amateur Team Championship, team Denmark, finished third. Venue Royal St George's Golf Club was founded in 1887 and has previously hosted the 1965 European Amateur Team Championship and The Open Championship 15 times, last time in 2021. Course layout Format Nations qualified were the teams placed 1st to 13th from the 2019 championship and the teams placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd from the 2019 and the 2021 European Amateur Team Championship Division 2. The 2019 European Amateur Team Championship took place 9–13 July at Ljunghusen Golf Club in Höllviken, Sweden. It was the 36th men's golf European Amateur Team Championship. Venue The hosting club was founded in 1932 and by 1965 it was the first golf club in Scandinavia to feature 27 holes, one of three clubs with links courses at the south west tip of Sweden, in Vellinge Municipality, Scania County. The championship was played at holes 1–18. The championship course was set up with par 72. Venue The club was founded in 1988 and its Västerled course, opened the same year, was co-designed by Sven Tumba and Jan Sederholm and located 20 kilometres northeast of Stockholm, Sweden. It was the 28th men's golf European Amateur Team Championship. The championship course was set up with par 72. The 2014 European Amateur Team Championship took place 8–12 July at Linna Golf Oy in Hämeenlinna, Finland. It was the 31st men's golf European Amateur Team Championship. Hillside Golf Club
Hillside Golf Club is a golf club located in Southport, England. The club was founded in 1911. Classed as a "links" course, because of the type of vegetation and geography, it runs over 18 holes and about 7,000 yards, all the holes being between and on mainly large dunes and local indigenous pinewoods, typical of the immediate coastal area.
